[ 4 November 2026 ]
G.I. JOE A REAL AMERICAN HERO TOMB RAIDER #1 has claimed first place in Image Comics' Top 10 Comics for October 2026, according to the publisher's latest monthly rankings. The first issue of the five-part crossover series placed ahead of Universal Monsters The Bride of Frankenstein Lives #1 in second position and Transformers #37 in third. Released on 7 October 2026, the comic brings together Lara Croft and characters from the G.I. Joe franchise in a collaboration between Skybound, Image Comics, Hasbro and Crystal Dynamics.
Written by Kyle Higgins, with artwork by Elena Casagrande, colours by Alex Guimaraes and lettering by Pat Brosseau, the series follows Lara Croft as she travels to Cobra Island in search of a treasure concealed there for decades. She joins forces with Shipwreck and members of the G.I. Joe team, while Destro and Baroness attempt to recover the same treasure. Following the initial release, Skybound and Image Comics confirmed that the first issue had sold out at the distributor level. A second printing featuring cover artwork by Annie Wu is scheduled for release on 2 December 2026, priced at $4.99.
The crossover forms part of Tomb Raider 30, a year-long programme marking the franchise's 30th anniversary, which includes projects across gaming, publishing, collectibles, fashion and fine art.
