TOMB RAIDER 2 AND 3 REMAKES DISCUSSED BY TOMB RAIDER LEGACY OF ATLANTIS DEVELOPERS
[ 4 November 2026 ]
The possibility of remakes of Tomb Raider 2 and Tomb Raider 3 has been raised following comments made by developers at Flying Wild Hog, according to a report published by French gaming website Gameblog. During an interview conducted at the Tomb Raider 30th anniversary event in Derby, England, Tomb Raider Legacy of Atlantis art director Arek Tomaszewski discussed the compromises involved in game development.
Tomaszewski stated, "I think that by the time we make Tomb Raider 3, we will have to do it." Gameblog interpreted the reference to making Tomb Raider 3 as a possible indication that further remakes are being considered.
The report also refers to an earlier Gameblog interview conducted at Gamescom 2026, during which Tomb Raider Legacy of Atlantis director Raul Siqueira expressed an interest in developing a remake of Tomb Raider 2. Siqueira indicated that the team would pursue such a project if the decision were theirs to make.
Gameblog acknowledged that its interpretation of Tomaszewski's comments was speculative and did not constitute confirmation of additional remakes. Neither Flying Wild Hog nor Crystal Dynamics has officially announced a remake of Tomb Raider 2 or Tomb Raider 3, and the reported development plans remain unconfirmed.
Tomb Raider Legacy of Atlantis, a reimagining of the original 1996 game, is scheduled for release on 12 February 2027 for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, PC and Nintendo Switch 2.
