TOMB RAIDER SERIES FILMING GENERATES EUR 3.3 MILLION IN ALMERIA

Filming for Amazon MGM Studios' live-action Tomb Raider television series generated EUR 3.3 million in economic activity in Almeria, according to a report by Spanish publication Noticias de Almeria. Production on the series has taken place at locations across Spain, including Asturias, Almeria, Girona and Marbella, with filming expected to conclude during the summer of 2026.
The live-action Tomb Raider television series was announced by Amazon MGM Studios and Crystal Dynamics in May 2024, with principal photography starting in January 2026. Based on the Tomb Raider video game franchise, the series features Sophie Turner as British archaeologist and adventurer Lara Croft. Sigourney Weaver, Jason Isaacs, Celia Imrie and Bill Paterson are also among the cast.
Amazon MGM Studios and Crystal Dynamics are producing the series. Phoebe Waller-Bridge and Jenny Robins serve as executive producers for Wells Street Films, alongside Dmitri M. Johnson, Michael Lawrence Goldberg and Timothy I. Stevenson for Story Kitchen, and Michael Scheel for Legendary Television.
