CRYSTAL DYNAMICS, FLYING WILD HOG AND EIDOS MONTREAL DEVELOPING TOMB RAIDER

Phil Rogers, CEO of Embracer Group, states that the Tomb Raider intellectual property is being developed by Crystal Dynamics, with co-development by Flying Wild Hog and Eidos Montreal, during a strategy update on the group's video game portfolio as part of its Q4 2026 report. Tomb Raider Legacy of Atlantis is the first major Tomb Raider title in eight years and will be published by Amazon Games, with Tomb Raider Catalyst scheduled for release shortly afterwards.
Tomb Raider Legacy of Atlantis, co-developed by Crystal Dynamics and Flying Wild Hog, is a faithful reimagining of the original Tomb Raider, the title that introduced Lara Croft and played a pivotal role in defining the action-adventure genre. The game combines modern gameplay mechanics with enhanced visual technology while preserving the core design elements that characterised the original release.
Tomb Raider Catalyst, co-developed by Crystal Dynamics, Flying Wild Hog and Eidos Montreal, is the next mainline instalment in the long-running franchise and follows Lara Croft to Northern India. The story centres on a mythical cataclysm that has unearthed ancient secrets and reawakened dormant guardian forces. Both projects are being developed using Unreal Engine 5 and are scheduled for release in 2026 and 2027, respectively, on Xbox Series X|S, PlayStation 5, and PC.
