TOMB RAIDER I-III REMASTERED UPDATE ADDS FIXES AND HD OUTFIT TEXTURES
[ 31 March 2026 ]
A new update for Tomb Raider I-III Remastered is rolling out across all platforms, addressing several previously reported issues with the Challenge Mode patch and adding HD textures for new outfits. Full patch notes for PlayStation, Xbox, Nintendo Switch 1, PC, and mobile are available on the official Aspyr Media website, with Nintendo Switch 2 coming soon.
The Challenge Mode update, released in March 2026, allows players to replay completed levels with customisable modifiers such as health, enemy strength, and equipment loadouts, and also serves as a level select, enabling Lara to begin with only her pistols unless modifiers are applied. It introduces ten outfits with bonuses exclusive to Challenge Mode, along with fifteen achievements and trophies for completing more difficult challenges.
Since its release, the Challenge Mode update has received a mixed reception. Some players welcomed the additional gameplay elements, but criticism has largely focused on technical issues, including visual inconsistencies, audio glitches, and gameplay bugs reported across the remastered titles. The latest patch from Aspyr Media aims to address a number of these issues.
Tomb Raider I-III Remastered, released in February 2024, collects all expansions and secret levels from the original trilogy. Players can seamlessly switch between original and enhanced visuals, as well as classic and modern control schemes. The collection also adds a photo mode, upgraded 3D item sprites, and trophies and achievements, while retaining the original engine and source code.
