FREE UPGRADE FOR TOMB RAIDER I-III REMASTERED ROLLS OUT FOR NINTENDO SWITCH 2

A free upgrade for owners of Tomb Raider I-III Remastered on Nintendo Switch is now rolling out for Nintendo Switch 2. The release is being distributed as a phased rollout across specific regions and includes the Challenge Mode update, which adds new objectives and unlockable content, alongside ten additional outfits for Lara Croft.

Accessible from the main menu of each title, Challenge Mode allows players to replay completed levels with a variety of customisable modifiers. These options include adjustments to Lara's health and regeneration, the number and strength of enemies, and equipment loadouts such as medkits, ammunition, and starting weapons. Challenge Mode can also be used as a level select, providing a fresh start in which Lara begins with only her basic pistols unless modifiers are applied.

In addition to these gameplay enhancements, ten new outfits have been added for Lara Croft, each with unique bonuses usable exclusively within Challenge Mode. Players can unlock the outfits through the game menu, allowing experimentation with different playstyles and strategies.

To complement the new mode, fifteen achievements and trophies have been introduced, awarded for completing levels with higher challenge ratings. The save system in Challenge Mode mirrors that of the standard game, with checkpoints marked by a skull icon to distinguish them. The update also includes a range of optimisations and bug fixes across platforms, ensuring smoother gameplay, corrected achievement triggers, and interface improvements.
