ALIX WILTON REGAN PRESENTS HER LARA CROFT AS BOTH FAMILIAR AND NEW
[ 24 February 2026 ]
Alix Wilton Regan has discussed her portrayal of Lara Croft on the Press X to Continue podcast, reflecting on her role in Tomb Raider Legacy of Atlantis and Tomb Raider Catalyst. Asked whether her interpretation of the character would feel familiar to players or represent a departure from previous versions, Wilton Regan said it was 'a bit of both'.
"And genuinely, I'm not saying that to be convoluted," Wilton Regan continues. "I think it is genuinely a bit of both. The phrase that I'm working with is no Laras left behind. So I like the idea of no Lara is left behind. I've looked at all of the performances. Obviously, I've got all the scripts, so I know where it's going. I think all of the Lara's that have previously come before will also be informing as we move into a new era of Tomb Raider. I genuinely think that fans are going to love it."
Wilton Regan's portrayal of Lara Croft seeks to reinforce the character's status as both an established adventurer and a modernised protagonist, presenting her as a confident figure defined by nuance and emotional depth. Developed using Unreal Engine 5, Tomb Raider Legacy of Atlantis and Tomb Raider Catalyst are scheduled for release in 2026 and 2027 respectively on Xbox Series X|S, PlayStation 5 and PC.
