SOPHIE TURNER PHOTOGRAPHED ON SET AS LARA CROFT IN NEW TOMB RAIDER SERIES

The Daily Mail reports that Sophie Turner has been photographed filming Amazon MGM's forthcoming Tomb Raider series in Surrey, offering the first on-set images of the actress as the iconic adventurer Lara Croft. Despite heavy rain, Turner was seen undertaking her own stunts, including gliding over a lake by parachute and running through woodland terrain between takes.

The 29-year-old actress, who follows Angelina Jolie and Alicia Vikander in the role, wore a practical reimagining of Lara Croft's costume, opting for grey cargo trousers, a ribbed brown top and a navy gilet in place of the character's traditional hotpants. The look was completed with fingerless gloves, gun holsters and Lara's signature braided hairstyle, as filming began on the London-based production.

Turner leads a distinguished ensemble cast that includes Sigourney Weaver, Jason Isaacs, Celia Imrie and Bill Paterson in the latest screen adaptation of the long-running Tomb Raider franchise. The series is produced by Amazon MGM Studios and Crystal Dynamics, with Phoebe Waller-Bridge and Jenny Robins serving as executive producers alongside partners from Wells Street Films, Story Kitchen and Legendary Television.
