TOMB RAIDER SURVIVOR TRILOGY NOW PART OF GOG PRESERVATION PROGRAMME
[ 26 September 2025 ]
The Tomb Raider Survivor Trilogy, comprising Tomb Raider: Definitive Edition, Rise of the Tomb Raider: 20 Year Celebration, and Shadow of the Tomb Raider: Definitive Edition, is now available on GOG as part of the GOG Preservation Programme. The initiative ensures these titles remain DRM-free and preserved in their best form for the future, while also offering players a seamless experience by enabling online features to function offline.
Tomb Raider Survivor Trilogy follows British aristocrat Lara Croft as she embarks on her formative journey across the world, starting in Tomb Raider trapped on the shrouded island of Yamatai off the coast of Japan, to the harsh Siberian tundra hiding an immortal secret in Rise of the Tomb Raider, and finally to the mountainous landscape of Peru to uncover a cataclysmic power in Shadow of the Tomb Raider.
The concept of being DRM-free, or free from Digital Rights Management restrictions, plays a vital role in the preservation of video games. By ensuring titles are not locked behind proprietary platforms or dependent upon external servers, DRM-free releases allow players to retain access to their games indefinitely, regardless of changing technologies or discontinued services.
