PHIL ROGERS TALKS TOMB RAIDER DURING EMBRACER GROUP AGM

Phil Rogers, Deputy CFO of Embracer Group and CEO of Crystal Dynamics Eidos, has spoken of his work with the Tomb Raider franchise over the past seventeen years and looks ahead at the future of the franchise. The comments were made during Embracer Group's Annual General Meeting earlier today.

"Tomb Raider is an IP I have been working on and around since 2007, it's both scary and exiting to think that's seventeen years already. I fell in love with Tomb Raider and Lara Croft in 1996 on PlayStation 1 and the chance to provide direction, challenge and resource to our fantastic Tomb Raider studios feels as motivating today as it did back then."

"Last year was a pressure year, but to the point that pressure can create diamonds for both Tomb Raider and Lord of the Rings, we've been diligently working with our own creative teams, other creative teams around the world and our passionate fans to lay the foundations and long term planning for these franchises."

"On Tomb Raider, our strategic partnership with Amazon across their games and Prime teams is building well. Netflix's animated series Tomb Raider The Legend of Lara Croft releases in early October."

Lara Croft and Tomb Raider are currently under the aegis of U.S. studio Crystal Dynamics who are developing a new multi-platform Tomb Raider title, with Amazon Games providing full support and publishing the game globally. The as-yet-untitled new Tomb Raider game is a single-player, narrative-driven adventure that continues Lara Croft's story in the Tomb Raider series.

Elsewhere in the franchise, Lara Croft is coming to Amazon Prime Video in a new Tomb Raider live-action series with Phoebe Waller-Bridge confirmed as Writer and Executive Producer. Tomb Raider The Legend of Lara Croft, a brand new Tomb Raider anime produced by Tasha Huo, Legendary Television and Dmitri M. Johnson, will steam exlusively on Netflix on 10th of October, 2024.

Notable releases this year include Tomb Raider I-III Remastered. The classic Tomb Raider series was "positively received and performed above management expectations," Embracer Group announced. Developed by Saber Interactive and published by Aspyr Media, Tomb Raider I-III Remastered is available now on all modern platforms and comes with all expansions and secret levels.
