TASHA HUO TALKS TOMB RAIDER WITH ENTERTAINMENT WEEKLY

Entertainment Weekly has published an extensive interview with Tasha Huo in which the Tomb Raider anime showrunner discusses how Tomb Raider The Legend of Lara Croft will reveal key secrets from Lara Croft's past and might event hint at the next mainline video-game.

Discussing Lara Croft's formative years, Tasha Huo tells Entertainment Weekly that the British adventurer "has this insane network that she can just tap into at any time, which tells us she was once at a Tibetan monastery in the middle of nowhere that no one has ever heard of and made friends. How did she build that incredible network around the world, what adventures led to that?"

On how Tomb Raider The Legend of Lara Croft might feed into the next mainline video-game currently in development, Tasha Huo says she had "lots of conversations with Crystal Dynamics, particularly early on," received specific direction on "what was totally open season" and discussed what was to remain untouched as Crystal Dynamics constructs "what the game is going to tread on." While Tasha Huo is careful not to reveal too much, she does say the show is "such an easy slot between the next game and where we came from."

Tomb Raider The Legend of Lara Croft follows on from the events of Shadow of the Tomb Raider and attempts to bridge the gap between the Survivor Trilogy and classic Tomb Raider. Tasha Huo tells Entertainment Weekly that the show is "made by fans, from top to bottom" and "feeds into all the stuff we love from the original games."
