TOMB RAIDER PUBLISHING DEAL VALUED AT SEK 500 MILLION

Embracer Group has revealed the publishing deal for Tomb Raider is valued at SEK 500 million (47M USD) during a presentation on the interim report for Q3 2023/24. Embracer Group and Amazon Games have an agreement under which Crystal Dynamics will develop a new multiplatform Tomb Raider title powered by Unreal Engine 5, with Amazon Games providing full support and publishing the game globally.
Embracer Group owns 132 internal game development studios including Gearbox Software and Crystal Dynamics plus an extensive catalogue of over 900 owned or controlled franchises including Borderlands and Tomb Raider.
Tomb Raider was originally developed by Derbyshire-based studio Core Design and published by Eidos Interactive on 24th of October, 1996. Tomb Raider has gone on to become a powerful franchise, spawning eleven mainline entries, three motion picture adaptations starring Academy Award-winning actresses Angelina Jolie and Alicia Vikander, a number of Lara Croft spin-off games, promotional crossovers and a steady stream of merchandise.
