NATHAN MCCREE TO REMASTER TOMB RAIDER MUSIC
[ 19 January 2024 ]
Tomb Raider composer Nathan McCree has announced the original music from Tomb Raider I, Tomb Raider II and Tomb Raider III will be remastered and released but will not feature in Tomb Raider I-III Remastered, the classic Tomb Raider series being restored by Aspyr Media.
"The re-recorded/remastered soundtracks I am releasing have nothing to do with the remastered games which Aspyr are releasing. I do not know what their plans are for the music/audio in the Remastered Games. I have nothing to do with that." Nathan McCree posted on X.
"The re-recorded, remastered original sountracks were always part of our plan. They have been one of the stretch goals in our Kickstarter campaign since 2017. What CD or Aspyr do for their remastered games is their concern. They always knew I was making them." Nathan McCree added.
Nathan McCree previously released The Tomb Raider Suite featuring the original music from Tomb Raider, extended and re-recorded with a live orchestra at Abbey Road Studios, London. The composer later went on to release The Tomb Raider Suite Synth Mixes featuring 24 tracks and medleys from Tomb Raider, Tomb Raider II and Tomb Raider III.
Update posted by Nathan McCree on X: "My release is a new recording, using the original MIDI files i created back in '96 with the same synths I used back then. The new recordings have been newly mixed and mastered at 96kHz 24bit. The musical content is unchanged. And I've isolated the music from the video sequences."
