MORE CANNED TOMB RAIDER SEQUEL STORYBOARDS
[ 17 February 2023 ]
Another round of storyboards from the cancelled Tomb Raider motion picture sequel under British filmmaker Ben Wheatley have been published by conceptual artist Jake Lunt Davies alongside plot and storyline details that add context to the illustrations. We have archived these storyboards in our Cancelled Games and Films section and thank Jake for helping us preserve Tomb Raider history.
"So last time, Lara was being rushed by a furious looking Unuratu wielding her deadly macuahuitl AND the tomb had been disturbed resulting in a giant stalactite plummeting towards her... real cliffhanger!" Jake posted on Twitter.
The sequel to the Tomb Raider motion picture reboot has been mired in controversy since first being revealed. Misha Green replaced Ben Wheatley at the helm with Alicia Vikander onboard to reprise her role as Lara Croft. MGM subsequently lost the film rights, sparking a bidding war for the IP. Amazon has since reportedly won a massive rights deal for the Lara Croft-helmed franchise with a TV series and film planned.
