Eidos
executive Ian Livingstone has confirmed a third
Tomb Raider motion picture is in the pipeline,
following months of speculation that SCi Entertainment
Group - parent owners of Eidos plc - has been
negotiating with Paramount Pictures to continue
Lara Croft's
silver-screen adventures.
According
to an interview with British video-game magazine
Eurogamer,
Livingstone also reveals information on next generation
Lara Croft, and has likened the detail of future
Tomb Raider video-games to "like watching television."
"I've
seen some of the in-game models and it's just
like watching television; if you felt you were
in love with Lara Croft previously, you ain't
seen nothing yet. You'll be drooling when you
see the new Lara as she appears in the next iteration."
Livingstone said.
On a
third motion picture, Livingstone says: "There's
a possibility - we've been talking to Paramount,
who've agreed to assign a scriptwriter. That's
nowhere near the green-light process but it's
a very healthy start to have a scriptwriter which
they're going to pay serious amounts of money
to write the first script."
