British
stage veteran and prolific actor Joss Ackland
will lend his vocal talents to Core Design for
this years most anticipated videogame debut -
Lara Croft Tomb Raider The Angel Of Darkness.
His commanding voice will project life into Pieter
Van Eckhardt, an unscrupulous alchemist bent on
mutant production and the orchestration of a repugnant
criminal fraternity.
Joss
Ackland won critical acclaim in 1987 following
his portrayal of a decadent aristocrat in Michael
Radford's White Mischief, a cinematic masterpiece
depicting the exploits of an expatriate community
and their social misgivings during World War II.
He also attracted attention for his portrayal
of author CS Lewis in the movie Shadowlands. Joss
Ackland's most recent accolade was the CBE (Commander
of the British Empire) rewarding the London-born
actor for 50 years in the industry.
Ackland
joins a heavily guarded cast for Core Design's
sixth Tomb Raider adventure starring British aristocrat
Lara Croft. Accused of the murder of her one time
mentor, Werner Von Croy, Lara becomes a fugitive
on the run. Pursued by the police, she follows
the Alchemist into a dark world of blood, betrayal
and vengeance. Lara Croft Tomb Raider The Angel
Of Darkness has been billed to make its commercial
debut November 2002, although mandatory teasing
will probably push the release back to December.
