ADVANCED TOMB RAIDER INSTALLER 1.06
Copyright 2007 www.tombraiderchronicles.com

[ January 21st 2007 ]

Advanced Tomb Raider Installer is a superb application that will effortlessly configure the installation of Core Design's original 1996 classic Tomb Raider for play on Microsoft Windows XP. Originally designed to run in a DOS environment, Tomb Raider can now be enjoyed on today's modern operating systems in all its original glory.

Bokkie from Tomb Raider Forums has released a shiny new version of his Advanced Tomb Raider Installer, with further support for Intel Hyperthreaded CPUs, GLIDOS and DG Voodoo - a free supplementary program for overall graphics improvement.

While we are confident you will find our Advanced Tomb Raider Installer successful, this application is provided "as is", with no express or implied warranty. By downloading, you agree to indemnify Eidos plc and Tomb Raider Chronicles should any damage result from use.

Please note this is not an official Eidos release, although it is recommended by Eidos as a solution for playing Tomb Raider on Windows XP. Please use the form enclosed within Advanced Tomb Raider Installer for comments.

Advanced Tomb Raider Installer 1.06 (build 92)

Change log for 1.06 (build 92) includes:

- Added VDMSound and Glidos autodetection. If VDMSound 2.1.0 or higher is not detected, the installer may not configure the game to work with VDMSound.

- Added TR1 multiprocessor support which fixes game freezing and savegame corruptions on dual-core or Hyperthreaded Intel CPU's. If more than one CPU is detected, Tomb Raider Advanced Installer will automatically install, register and start the service named "Tomb Raider Advanced Installer Multiprocessor Helper" which may monitor and fix Tomb Raider executables while the game is running.

- Added support for dgVoodoo 1.40+ (the user may now choose between dgVoodoo 1.31 and dgVoodoo 1.40+).

- TRUB levels included in installer (this is the main reason why the installer got so big).

- Added idlePrio support which fine-tunes audio synchronization.

- The user may now chose between stereo and mono sounds (choose mono if you are getting crackling sounds).

- Now copying vddloader.dll into C:\TOMBRAID (required by Glidos).

- Fixed bug where install screen freezes the data after embedded resource could not be found in the executable.

- Added update module, so you may contact the author, send your comments and ask for help.

- Fixed dead links, some new links added.
