Using the PDA

When you enter the PDA, you can see a Map with the locations that Lara has been so far and the Stats of the level you play (in which mode you play the level, the time it has taken so far and how many Rewards you have found). Additionally, there is a small menu at the top left, where you can get some information about the Objectives of the level, Data about the past levels and Lara's Gear.

Objectives - When you enter this menu, you can see the Mission Summary, the Main Objective and Sub Objectives.

Data - This menu gives you Lara's notes about past levels. It also provides information about each level you have completed, such as the Completion Time, if you have completed the level's Time Trial (you can find information about them below) and how many Rewards you have found.

Gear - This menu shows what Lara carries: the weapon (apart from the Pistols), Grenades, Magnetic Grapple, the number of Health Packs, Binoculars and PLS. When you highlight an item, you can read some information about it.

Various Notes

The controls have complerely changed and Lara is now moving based on the camera (that you have to manipulate) and not where Lara looks.

Grabbing - Lara grabs the ledges, ladders, pipes, ropes etc automatically. All you need to do is move\ jump towards them. You do not have to be aligned to them precisely. Even if you diagonally jump towards them, Lara will grab them.

If you jump from a longer distance but you can still reach the object, Lara will grab it with one hand. An icon then appears, which prompts you to use the Interact button and make Lara grab the object with both hands, so that you can save her from falling down. This icon appears when you grab horizontal pipes and ledges.

Grapple & shimmering objects - The shimmering objects prompt you to use the Grapple. You throw the Grapple and press the Interact button to pull them.

Apart from using the Grapple for pulling objects and enemies close to you, it can be used to grab shimmering objects above Lara. That way, she uses the Grapple as a rope. How this works: An X appears at the top of your screen, which indicates that the object above can be catched with the Grapple. These shimmering objects usually appear when the next ledge is far away and Lara cannot reach it with a jump. So, you jump off the edge and, whilst in midair, you press Jump again to use the Grapple and catch the object. Swing and, when Lara reaches the highest point (away from your screen), press Jump again to leap off.

Ropes - The rope swinging has been improved dramatically. You do not have to slide to the bottom of the rope in order to gain momentum, nor aim at the next rope precisely. No more rope frustrations!

Interacting with the environmental hazards - When there are many enemies around, the game allows you to interact with one or more objects. An icon appears close to the object, which prompts you to use the Interact button and shoot the object. It can be a decrepit pillar, a barrel or a car\ truck that explodes, a ledge that is ready to collapse etc. That way, you can damage the nearby enemies.

Aiming at enemies - Whilst aiming at enemies, you can make various moves to damage them (see the Combined Moves above). When you aim at an enemy, a reticule appears. When it is gray, it means that the target is out of range. When it is red, Lara can hit the target at this distance. Even if it is gray, you still can damage the enemy, although the bullets are not so powerful as if you were closer.
