CHRONICLES VERSION MYSTERY

Following the release of Tomb Raider Chronicles in PC flavours on Friday 24th November, we received a tip this afternoon about a version.txt file suggesting to it's owner that the CD is in development and should be returned to CORE. Curious, we popped our CD into the tray, searched for version.txt and found the following contents in it's file.

CHRONICLES PC VERSION OUT

Tomb Raider Chronicles on PC platforms was this morning released across the UK, shipping with the much hyped level editor in a stylish DVD style double CD edition. Remaining formats yet to go on sale are Sony's Dreamcast, which is expected to hit the shelves sometime in December. US Versions of Chronicles went on sale last week, and are already climbing almost every game chart currently polling purchases. Chronicles is expected to expire any existing top entry title within weeks.

PSYCHE BEHIND TOMB RAIDER

Another year, another Tomb Raider game. This time with more polygons, which roughly translates as rounder *ahem* curves but why do we do it? why do we spend so much time with Lara? why are we so hooked, spending hours playing the game, buying the T-shirts, hunting for cheats, putting the posters on out walls and the wallpapers on our desktops?

RADAR HONES IN ON CHRONICLES

Almost a week following the release of Eidos Interactive's fifth Tomb Raider Chronicles, game fans across the map have had heads down frantically toying Lara Croft through four new flashback levels, noting the graphical, architectural and mechanical improvements Core Design's Adrian Smith boasted prior to it's release. Feedback from gamers and online magazines has been mixed, and one resource not pulling any punches is Daily Radar, who do not seem overly impressed with Chronicles. (their review here)
