RISE OF THE TOMB RAIDER MARKS TEN-YEAR ANNIVERSARY SINCE RELEASE

Today marks the tenth anniversary of the release of Rise of the Tomb Raider in North America. The second instalment in the Survivor Trilogy was released exclusively for Microsoft’s Xbox 360 and Xbox One on 10 November 2015. The game follows Lara Croft as she ventures into the remote and perilous wilderness of Siberia in search of the secret of immortality, racing against a clandestine organisation known as Trinity.

TOMB RAIDER CELEBRATES 29 YEARS SINCE ITS ORIGINAL UK RELEASE

Tomb Raider was released in the United Kingdom on Thursday, 24 October 1996. Today marks twenty-nine years since British adventurer Lara Croft made her inaugural appearance on the Sega Saturn. The game's launch was accompanied by an 'out today' advertisement in the Daily Mirror, published on 24 October 1996, which is now preserved in the British Newspaper Archive in partnership with the British Library, and a release date listing in Computer and Video Games magazine.

Today marks eighteen years since Tomb Raider Anniversary was released in Europe. Inspired by the first Tomb Raider video game, originally developed by Core Design and released in 1996, Tomb Raider Anniversary was developed by Crystal Dynamics and sought to faithfully preserve the elements which made the original Tomb Raider such a classic, selling over 7 million copies worldwide.
