EIDOS SELLS OFF CORE DESIGN STUDIO
British publisher Eidos - the company assimilated into SCi Entertainment Group earlier this year - has hammered the final nail into the coffin of Core Design by selling off the Derbyshire-based studio and moved towards opening a new studio in Sweden, trade paper MCV reports this morning.

EIDOS PLC TO RETAIN CORE DESIGN STUDIO
Eidos Plc has confirmed Core Design Ltd will continue to operate in its current capacity as a leading videogame developer contrary to an article we published Friday 31 September 2003 suggesting the impending downgrading of operations at the Derbyshire-based studio. A statement released by Eidos today concluded that Core Design is very much part of Eidos' long term plans and will be retained as a development studio. Our article published Friday 31 September 2003 was therefore in error, and we apologise for any inconvenience this may have caused.

EIDOS AND SOLD OUT EXTEND BUDGET DEAL
Sold Out has confirmed that it has signed an agreement with Eidos to extend its exclusive deal to release their titles as part of its £4.99 super-budget range for PC. The extended deal will see 13 new Eidos titles added to the range, which will be released over the duration of the next 12 months.
