Pinewood Shepperton Studios has appointed investment banking arm HSBC to explore the possibility of a public stock offering. HSBC will examine options for the company, created a year ago when Pinewood merged with Shepperton in a £35 million deal that gave the enlarged group a value of more than 144 million.

Producer Lawrence Gordon has signed an overall production pact with Stewart Till's Signpost Films. Under the terms of the deal, Gordon, who most recently produced K-Pax for Universal Pictures and Intermedia, will produce at least one film a year for the company, which in return will handle worldwide distribution on the projects.
