EIDOS ANNOUNCE E3 LINEUP

Eidos Interactive, the publishing arm of Tomb Raider software house Core Design, have announced their E3 line-up for this years electronic trade show. More noticeable than the titles on offer are those which remain absent from the list, namely a Tomb Raider title, the first such absence in over four years.

PROJECT EDEN RELEASE DATE

Project Eden, Core Designs latest multi player adventure, will be officially released September 2001 for Playstation II and PC platforms, the company announced in a press release today. Designed by the team that created the original Tomb Raider, Project Eden is a squad-based action/adventure featuring strategic puzzle solving, tactical use of equipment and innovative character interaction set in the squalid bowels of an overpopulated Earth shadowed by affluent mega-cities.

EIDOS OFF ON PROFIT WARNINGS

Eidos interactive, the power behind Lara Croft's Tomb Raider, lost 18 per cent off it's share price today following a revision warning of downwards expectations resulting in the delay of many titles, Bloomberg reports today.

PC GAMER HUNTS DOWN CORE DESIGN

Derby. Early August. It's been difficult locating Core Design's HQ because, as the cabbie puts it 'There's no sign on the door.' He's not wrong. Presumably attempting to throw Lara obsessive (and believe me, these people do exist), off their scent, Core's building is discreetly tucked away in an anonymous industrial estate. Until you get past their reception, that is. And then it's six-foot statues of their money-spinning heroine, trophy cabinets, and the subtle but perceptible buzz of a young, dynamic company that's made millionaires of its founders. Naturally, the majority of this success is thanks to the vehicles for Lara Croft's third-person acrobatics - the Tomb Raider series of games.
