Embracer Group has announced its intention to transform into three standalone publicly listed entities at Nasdaq Stockholm. The deal will see the Tomb Raider IP controlled by newly formed Middle-earth Enterprises and Friends, the business arm responsible for AAA video-game development.

Tomb Raider developer Crystal Dynamics will reside under Middle-earth Enterprises and Friends under plans announced by Embracer Group to transform into three standalone publicly listed entities. The studio is developing a new multi-platform Tomb Raider title powered by Unreal Engine 5, with Amazon Games providing full support and publishing the game globally.

EMBRACER GROUP TO DIVEST GEARBOX ENTERTAINMENT

Gearbox Entertainment has been sold to Take-Two Interactive Software by Embracer Group in a deal valued at USD 460 million (SEK 4.9 billion), marking the final structured divestment process for the Swedish video-game and media holding company. Embracer Group will retain selected companies including Gearbox Publishing San Francisco, to be renamed.

EMBRACER GROUP BOOSTS MCAP ON NASDAQ STOCKHOLM

Embracer Group has climbed 10.7 per cent on Nasdaq Stockholm following the divestment of Saber Interactive and an ongoing restructuring program. The Swedish video-game and media holding company's share price reached 20.7 SEK during mid-afternoon trading, boosting market capitalisation to 27 742 MSEK.

AMAZON GAMES TO ATTEND GAME DEVELOPERS CONFERENCE 2024

Amazon Games will be attending Game Developers Conference in San Francisco from 18th of March to 22nd of March, 2024. Embracer Group and Amazon Games have an agreement under which Crystal Dynamics will develop a new multi-platform Tomb Raider title powered by Unreal Engine 5, with Amazon Games providing full support and publishing the game globally.
