REMASTERS OF CLASSIC GAMES STILL BEING EXPLORED

Phil Rogers, head of Embracer Group's 12th Operative Group, says Crystal Dynamics and Eidos are exploring remaster opportunities of classic games and mentioned the studio's participation at Unreal Fest discussing transitioning from Foundation Engine to Unreal Engine 5 during Embracer Group's presentation of their Q2 interim report.

EIDOS SHANGHAI BECOMES GEARBOX STUDIO SHANGHAI

Gearbox Software has announced Eidos Shanghai is now Gearbox Studio Shanghai. Eidos Shanghai previously worked with Crystal Dynamics on Shadow of the Tomb Raider, Marvel's Guardians of the Galaxy and Deus Ex: Mankind Divided. Gigi Ning, who previously led Eidos Shanghai, will continue leading the studio as General Manager and report into Gearbox Publishing San Francisco.

EMBRACER GROUP TO HOLD Q2 INTERIM PRESENTATION

Embracer Group has announced a presentation 'in connection with the publication of the interim report for the second quarter, the period July-September 2022.' The event will be held on 17 November, 2022 in Stockholm with CEO Lars Wingefors, CFO and Deputy CEO Johan Ekstrom, and Head of sustainability Emma Ihre in attendance.

Liminalty, Marketing Artist for Square Enix, has released new artwork from Tomb Raider Reloaded featuring Lara Croft, Anaya Imanu, a friend of British adventurer Lara Croft, Kurtis Trent and Von Croy. 'Something for the best community' Liminalty wrote on Twitter.

LARA CROFT GO STUDIO CLOSED BY EMBRACER GROUP

Studio Onoma, previously Square Enix Montreal and Square Enix London Mobile, has been shuttered by new owners Embracer Group, Bloomberg reports. The studio was recently acquired alongside Crystal Dynamics and Eidos Montreal from Square Enix. The closure is part of a company-wide initiative to reduce overheads and focus development on PC and console gaming.
