CHRONICLES TO SPORT LEVEL EDITOR

Core design will be including the custom-written Chronicles Level Designer in the PC version of Tomb Raider: Chronicles, the fifth in the incredibly successful Tomb Raider series, which is due for release this November. According to a report published by the Croft Times, Core builds a unique level designer with each edition of Tomb Raider, and this time the publication of its Chronicles version means that the user can now fully customise the environment in which Lara performs in, as well as built new maps and create new adventures for Eidos Interactives most famous heroine.

EIDOS SHARE PRICE CONTINUES TO RISE

Eidos Interactive, the Lara Croft video games company, gained 4 per cent after it said it is still in bid talks, although would not name any interested parties. Earlier this month, software giant Infogrammes said it was pressing ahead with plans to acquire UK computer games group Eidos. A deal expected to value the creator of virtual cyber-heroine Lara Croft at up to £700m ($1.06bn) had reached final stages earlier though it could still fall through over valuation and management issues. Other software groups, including Ubi Soft, Electronic Arts and Microsoft have approached Eidos.

TOMB RAIDER CHRONICLES STORYBOARD

Every good character starts life on the drawing board, where, in Lara's case, pain-staking detail is shaded into a character that explodes onto the gaming scene. These detailed shots illustrate the journey from board to bandwidth as Core Design begin their legendary transformation. The first image pictures an eerie mansion scene illuminated by a lightning bolt flickering down from the storm-filled skies.

TOMB RAIDER: CHRONICLES PREVIEW <

Tomb Raider: Chronicles...Is she or isn't she. According to Core Design's Adrian Smith, she could wake up, have banged her head in the shower and it all would have been a horrible dream... mocking that infamous episode from the television soap Dallas. Adrian also comments during an interview in this months UK Playstation magazine of the deluge of email received from frantic Tomb Raider fans across the globe quizzing the company on whether their worldly adventurer Lara Croft was actually dead, having been consumed by the Temple of Horus at the close of the suggestively named The Last Revelation.

TOMB RAIDER CHRONICLES INFORMATION

The UK Playstation Magazine's August feature this month focuses on the fifth instalment from the phenomenally successful Tomb Raider series from Eidos Interactive and developed by CORE DESIGN aptly named Tomb Raider Chronicles. The scene begins with the funeral of our heroine Miss Lara Croft, feared consumed in the Temple Of Horus at the end of The Last Revelation (aka Tomb Raider 4). As Wilson and several other guests begin to reminisce of adventures entertaining Lara to the covenants of the globe, the story cuts to Rome, where, as Wilson narrates a particular favourite adventure, Lara assumes her role and the game begins.
