EIDOS GEARS UP FOR SHARE INITIATIVE
Eidos Interactive, the publisher of Core Designs Tomb Raider series, will launch a new share initiative aimed at generating £50m to help fund a new expansion project, FT MarketWatch reports today. Eidos aims to raise £50 million by selling the new shares at almost half its current share price, the report said. Eidos shares have dropped from more than £10 to a low of 163 pence since the beginning of last year. The shares fell 5.1 percent to 297 pence on Friday.

Drink manufacturers Coca-Cola and Pepsi Cola Co. are gearing up for their own summer showdown as both companies compete for a dominating share in the juices, waters and new age beverages markets. While Coca Cola have enlisted the help of Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone (Warner Bros.) penned by children's author J K Rowling as part of their $500m advertising campaign, Pepsi Cola have partnered with Paramount Pictures to ride the Tomb Raider train to maximum exposure.

U2 DISPLEASED WITH ELEVATION VIDEO
Irish rock group U2, who recently premiered their Elevation music video across the MTV network, are reportedly unhappy with the final cut after Tomb Raider star Angelina Jolie cancelled her appearance because of scheduling problems. The original video screenplay saw Jolie, cast as Core Designs British aristocrat Lara Croft, save band member the Edge from his mirrored evil counterpart, with shooting planned a month ago in Seattle. Jolie subsequently cancelled, her management company blaming her absence on a busy workload, and footage from Paramount Pictures upcoming motion picture was inserted into the five minute music video instead.
