Tomb Raider publishers Eidos Interactive have bounced back after last weeks disappointing interim figures with their share price closing at 155p and their traded volume totalling 622,909. The turnaround was helped by news that chief executive Michael McGarvey and development director Jeremy Heath Smith had acquired 31,000 shares each at 160p.

CORE DESIGN TO EXPAND WORKFORCE
Derbyshire based software house Core Design have released plans to recruit a further 20-25 people during the next year to expand product development at its new Pride Park headquarters, according to a report in todays Derby Evening Telegraph. The company and its parent, the entertainment software developer Eidos Interactive, are spending £42m on research and development and aim eventually to produce 80 per cent of their products in-house.

British computer games publisher Eidos Interactive have announced lower than expected losses for the first quarter of its fiscal year declaring £15.3 million, a sharp fall from the £22.3m shortfall it reported in the previous quarter, the BBC reports today. London based Eidos gave a broadly bullish outlook for the coming year compounded by its 2001 release strategy which includes Core Designs Project Eden, making its digital debut on Playstation and PC September 28th, Soul Reaver II and Herdy Gerdy.
