CORE DESIGN'S 10 ANNIVERSARY TRAILER

Prior to the decision by Eidos plc to port development of the Tomb Raider franchise to Crystal Dynamics, former Lara Croft architects Core Design were working on their own commemorative edition of Tomb Raider to celebrate 10 years of Lara Croft. While this version of the game was subsequently canned when Core Design were disbanded, a steady flow of media showcasing the work has been forthcoming.

TOMB RAIDER GAME ENGINE COURTS DEUS

Eidos Montreal has confirmed Deus EX 3 will be powered by the same game engine that props up Lara Croft in Tomb Raider. Developed internally by U.S. studio Crystal Dynamics, the original game engine assisted in the resurgence of Lara Croft after Eidos ported development of the franchise from Core Design.

Online video-game magazine 1UP.com has short-listed Tomb Raider Anniversary as Best Adventure Game of 2007 alongside a slew of other successful titles including Happy Potter and The Legend Of Zelda. Voting is open to the gaming public now through Dec. 31, 2007.

TOMB RAIDER ANNIVERSARY SCORES MAC

Feral Interactive has announced Tomb Raider Anniversary will be ported to MAC for Apple gamers, Mac World reports today. Only Intel-based MACs will benefit from the game at time of release, but Feral Interactive notes that a Universal binary update will be made in available sometime 'in the new year.'
