MANU BENNETT SCORES SEQUEL AUDITION

New Zealand born Street Legal actor Manu Bennett has landed a screen test opposite Angelina Jolie for a part in Paramount Pictures upcoming Tomb Raider sequel, The Cradle of Life, Stuff Magazine reports today. The 33-year old former Shortland Street actor will read for helmer Jan de Bont during a casting session in London later this week. Manu was very excited about doing the screen test, says a friend, moviemakers can't get enough of Kiwis at the moment. We think he's got a good chance.

DJIMON HOUNSOU TO STAR IN MOVIE SEQUEL

Former Paris model and Gladiator star Djimon Hounsou will star opposite Angelina Jolie in Paramount Pictures Tomb Raider movie sequel which began shooting at London's Pinewood Studios in July. The South African born actor's recent celluloid accolades include Stargate, Unlawful Entry with guest appearances on Beverly Hills 90210 and ER. Hounsou also made a cameo appearance on Janet Jackson's Love Will Never Do Without You music video.

JOLIE AND VOIGHT PUT TROUBLES ASIDE

Tomb Raider star Angelina Jolie is reported to have patched up the feud with her father, Jon Voight. The duo - who appeared as father and daughter in the movie about Lara Croft - have had a rocky relationship for years because of his womanising and divorce from Angelina's mother. But the actress is said to have called her father to make peace after he made a tearful plea for her to get in touch during a TV interview, according to newspaper reports.

BLUE TULIP SCORES TOMB RAIDER SEQUEL

Blue Tulip Productions, a Santa Monica-based film and television company nestled within the 20th Century Fox movie empire, is to add Paramount Pictures Tomb Raider movie sequel to its ongoing résumé. The Lara Croft video-game adaptation, which began shooting at London's Pinewood Studios in July, is helmed by Speed director and Blue Tulip boss Jan de Bont who will orchestrate Angelina Jolie and Chris Barrie in the second of three Tomb Raider motion pictures. Blue Tulip's recent accolades include Speed 2, Minority Report and Twister.

SEQUEL TO SHOOT ON VOLCANIC ISLAND

According to reports in today's Greek press, Angelina Jolie will shoot scenes from Paramount Pictures Tomb Raider movie sequel on the sun-drenched Aegean Sea island of Santorini. Filming is scheduled to begin Aug 26-31 at the northern-most point of the island in the small costal town of Ia. Producers will also tout for 100 extras to star alongside Jolie as she records a series of underwater sequences depicting the discovery of a submerged temple containing an inventory of Alexander The Greats' prized possessions.
