WONDERLAND ACQUIRES TOMB RAIDER RIDE

Paramount's Kings Island has just acquired a Canadian counterpart with the announced launch of the first aerial rollercoaster based on the Lara Croft Tomb Raider motion pic. Paramount Canada's Wonderland bills the new Tomb Raider Ride as the thrills of a rollercoaster while experiencing the sensation of flying. The attraction will debut beginning of the 2004 holiday season at Paramount Canada's Wonderland amusement park.

TOMB RAIDER THE RIDE ON TRAVEL SHOW

Paramount's Kings Island's Tomb Raider: The Ride will be included in a March 19 show on the Travel Channel reports the Cincinnati Business Courier. The ride will be featured on Theme Park Secrets: Extreme East, which airs at 6 p.m. According to a news release, the show covers thrilling attractions at amusement parks on the East Coast. Kings Island's Tomb Raider ride opened in 2002 and is based on video games by Eidos plc. and movies starring Academy Award winner Angelina Jolie. Tomb Raider: The Ride won an outstanding achievement award in 2003 from the Themed Entertainment Association.

ANGELINA JOLIE URGES AID TO REFUGEES

Actress Angelina Jolie, a Goodwill Ambassador for the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR), has urged individuals and corporations around the world to donate money to help Sudanese refugees in Chad. Ms. Jolie, a United States national, has personally donated $50,000 to water projects in Chad, where an estimated 110,000 Sudanese refugees have gathered after escaping civil conflict in Sudanís strife-torn Darfur region, according to UNHCR.
