Tomb Raider: Chronicles...Is she or isn't she. According to Core Design's Adrian Smith, she could wake up, have banged her head in the shower and it all would have been a horrible dream... mocking that infamous episode from the television soap Dallas. Adrian also comments during an interview in this months UK Playstation magazine of the deluge of email received from frantic Tomb Raider fans across the globe quizzing the company on whether their worldly adventurer Lara Croft was actually dead, having been consumed by the Temple of Horus at the close of the suggestively named The Last Revelation.

LESLIE PHILLIPS IN BATTLE OF WITS

The 75-year-old star - best known as a ladies man in the Carry On and Doctor comedies - will play a treacherous ex-friend of the father of movie heroine Lara Croft. His character, Wilson, will join forces with villain Powell in the battle of wits against Croft, played by Oscar winner Angelina Jolie. A spokesman for Phillips said: Leslie has been cast in Tomb Raider and he's just started filming it this week at Pinewood. It's fantastic news, and he's delighted. He's an icon and he's doing a lot of very, very good work at the moment.

TOMB RAIDER MOTION PICTURE RELEASE

Paramount Pictures' eagerly anticipated screen version of Tomb Raider, starring Academy Award(R) winner Angelina Jolie, has begun principal photography in London. Directed by Simon West (The General's Daughter, Con Air), the live-action feature film is inspired by the most popular interactive video character in history -- Lara Croft. Beautiful and brainy, Lara is the heroine of Eidos Interactive's phenomenally successful Tomb Raider video game series.

JAMIE KENNEDY AUDITIONS FOR MOVIE

Screen star Jamie Kennedy has confirmed he is auditioning for a role opposite Angelina Jolie in the Eidos blockbuster Tomb Raider, which, directed by Simon West, is looking for a Summer 2001 release. Kennedy is fresh from the set of The Specials, a comic book movie, where he played blue super-villain turned good guy named Amok.

TOMB RAIDER MOVIE KICKS OFF

As principal photography begins on the Tomb Raider movie at Pinewood, an official press release reveals that more members of the cast have been joining Angelina on the production, reports movie magazine Empire Online. Empire also reports that according to an article on Dark Horizons, the internet-movie rumour-mill site, Scottish actor Iain Glen has been cast as the movies villain Powell, 'an adversary of Lara Croft's father, Lord Croft, and now Lara's sworn enemy'.
