PC GAMER HUNTS DOWN CORE DESIGN

Derby. Early August. It's been difficult locating Core Design's HQ because, as the cabbie puts it There's no sign on the door. He's not wrong. Presumably attempting to throw Lara obsessive (and believe me, these people do exist), off their scent, Core's building is discreetly tucked away in an anonymous industrial estate. Until you get past their reception, that is. And then it's six-foot statues of their money-spinning heroine, trophy cabinets, and the subtle but perceptible buzz of a young, dynamic company that's made millionaires of its founders. Naturally, the majority of this success is thanks to the vehicles for Lara Croft's third-person acrobatics - the Tomb Raider series of games.

LARA CROFT TO SHOOT IN ICELAND

The cast and crew of Tomb Raider The Movie, based on Eidos Interactives action adventure heroine Lara Croft, are expected to travel to Jokulsarslon on it's Iceland leg of filming. Jokulsarslon is a reservoir under a glacier where various films and commercials are shot, and according to rumours and images published in it's local paper, the set itself appears to be dressed as a native village.

ANGKOR WAT MAY PLAY HOST TO LARA

Cambodia's fabled Angkor Wat temple complex may take center stage in a new Hollywood movie based on the popular Tomb Raider video game and starring actress Angelina Jolie, according to a report today. Jolie and a 250-strong crew from Paramount Pictures could arrive as soon as next month in the northern town of Siem Reap to begin filming at the 9th-12th century temples surrounded by jungle, the Phnom Penh Post newspaper said. Officially there is not yet any agreement, but I hope that the filming can take place, said Ang Choulean, who is spokesman for the Apsara Authority which oversees conservation at the world heritage site.

LARA CROFT LOADS IN ASTON

Aston Martin - The smooth sleek curves dressing a powerful V6 powerplant will soon be the preferred method of transport for Miss Lara Croft, played by Angelina Jolie, in the upcoming Simon West Movie Tomb Raider. According to the Internet Movie Data Base, Aston Martin is currently conducting covert meetings with producers on a top secret design for the vehicle, which will feature in the opening sequence of the movie. Until then, only cast and crew will be able to see the machine. The prototype V12 Vanquish has a top speed of 190 miles-per-hour and will cost between $255,000 and $300,000 when it comes on the market next year.

DANIEL CRAIG ON TOMB RAIDER MOVIE

Actor Daniel Craig has spoken out about why he decided to sign for the highly anticipated - but as yet untested - computer game adaptation Tomb Raider, along with its two contractual sequels. Craig, who features in two British movies over the next month - Some Voices and Hotel Splendide, said: What do you do? Do you get a job offer like that and go 'Oh, I can't commit.' I'd hate to think I was nailing my colours to the mast with something that I didn't believe in. I have to do it because it is an experience. I've never done something on this scale before. It will be nice to think if I do this film, I will have more of a choice as to what I do.
