With thousands of fans across the world tuning into Paramount Pictures live web cast this evening, Real Networks in association with Land Rover carried the broadcast without a hitch, bringing to desktops throughout the world a tour of Croft Manor, an in-depth look at the vehicles featuring in Simon West's action movie, and a surprise phone call from Lara Croft herself. Proceedings began shortly after 19:30 this evening, with John Tracey hosting the show live from Europe's largest soundstage at Pinewood Studios, London.

Curious image allegedly sent into movie daily Empire Online from a fan claiming that Angelina Jolie, cast as Eidos Interactives Lara Croft in the upcoming Paramount Pictures movie Tomb Raider, sent out this autographed picture to her.

Were you a fan of the game before you came on board the production? I don't have much time to play video games, but TOMB RAIDER is definitely the best one I've played. I find that it's both intelligent, creative and incredibly fun.

Every great adventure must, by definition, contain some element of risk. If that's true, then Simon West, Angelina Jolie, Paramount, Mutual Films, and Larry Gordon and Lloyd Levin are all having one hell of an adventure right now, because they're attempting what has been seemingly impossible up until now: they are trying to make a great film based on a video game. And the crazy thing is, they just might pull it off.

Curious image of Angelina Jolie which allegedly came from the Brazilian Magazine Veja, although speculation about it's authenticity is providing much food for thought. The discrepancy is the absence of a tattoo which, during the 2000 Premier of Gone In 60 Seconds, was clearly visible on Angelina Jolie's arm. We'll let you call this one... Meanwhile the cast and crew are readying their equipment for the long haul to Cambodia where for most of November they will shoot in the famous religious Temples of Angkor Wat.
