VIDEO GAMES RELY ON APPEAL OF MOVIES
Sequels and movie adaptations - that's what the coming year promises from the video game industry. With billions of dollars on the line, many game makers are relying on brand-name recognition to weather the fierce four-way competition between personal computer systems, Microsoft's Xbox, Nintendo's GameCube and Sony's PlayStation 2. Sequels to the innovative games The Legend of Zelda, Tomb Raider and Black & White are in the works, along with a host of new games based on popular films like Harry Potter, Tron and Indiana Jones. Virtually every exhibit at last week's Electronic Entertainment Expo featured spin-offs and movie adaptations or games with II or III at the end of their titles.

IGN RELEASES NEW TOMB RAIDER FOOTAGE
Online entertainment network IGN has posted three movies from E3 2002 showcasing Lara Croft in The Angel Of Darkness, the sixth Tomb Raider adventure set to make its commercial debut December 4th, 2002. The episodic-based adventure is classic Lara as both hunter and hunted relying on her ingenuity, athleticism and a new edge that has arisen from her dark inner demons. However, this time she faces more evolved characters and situations, calling for more involved decision-making.

TOMB RAIDER ICON GETS HER OWN AGENT
Creative Artists Agency, one of the most powerful talent agencies in the business, has added video-game icon Lara Croft to its heavy-hitting client roster with the hopes of securing strategic advertising alliances with non-gaming companies through sports and apparel, consumer product tie-ins and publishing deals. The digital heroine is the first video-game character to be represented by a major talent and literary agency and signals the movie industy's growing interest in the $20 billion video-game business.

DIGITAL LARA CROFT COMES TO LIFE AT E3
Eidos Interactive and Core Design announced today that Lara Croft, character of one of the 1 billion dollar game franchise, will mark her public debut at the upcoming Electronic Entertainment Expo in Los Angeles on May 22. Croft, who has previously been portrayed by models Rhona Mitra, Nell McAndrew, Lara Weller, Lucy Clarkson, Jill de Jong and actress Angelina Jolie, will make several appearances on the expo floor answering questions from the audience and talking about her newest adventure Lara Croft Tomb Raider: The Angel of Darkness.

Eidos plc, one of the world's leading publishers and developers of entertainment software, announced today results for the six months and year ended March 31, 2002. Net revenue was 88.7 million pounds for the six months and 120.3 million pounds for the full year, a decrease of 18% on the previous year.
