GOLDEN HANDSHAKE FOR EIDOS DIRECTOR
The Sheffield man who launched Tomb Raider cyberbabe Lara Croft's high-flying career is poised for a multi-million pound double take. Jeremy Heath-Smith is leaving computer games group Eidos with a 'golden goodbye' and has sold his mansion on Ringinglow Road, less than a month after it was put on the market at a record asking price of £3.5 million.

SUDDEN EXIT FOR EIDOS / CORE DIRECTOR
Jeremy Heath-Smith, development director for Eidos, on Tuesday looked to have paid for the delays to the latest Tomb Raider game after the company announced that he would be leaving with immediate affect. The sudden exit of Mr Heath-Smith comes less than a month after the computer games company issued a profit warning, blaming the delay of getting heroine Lara Croft to gamers' screens.

JEREMY HEATH SMITH RESIGNS FROM CORE
Eidos development director and Core Design managing director Jeremy Heath-Smith has announced that he is to resign from the boards of both companies with immediate effect. Heath-Smith, who has been with Eidos and Core for seven years, was closely associated with the development of the hugely delayed Tomb Raider: Angel of Darkness - which narrowly missed being released in Europe in time for Eidos' financial year end despite a desperate last-minute scramble.

THE ANGEL OF DARKNESS ASSAULTS CHARTS
Tomb Raider: Angel of Darkness took the top spot in the UK sales charts this week, selling more copies in its first week than any other previous Tomb Raider title - while Sony's Eye Toy: Play made a solid start at number two. The strength of the Tomb Raider franchise was proved afresh by the success of Angel of Darkness, which has also become the fifth best selling PS2 title over one week of all time in the UK - despite repeated delays to the launch of the game, and a critical panning in the majority of reviews.
