JEREMY HEATH SMITH RESIGNS FROM CORE

Eidos development director and Core Design managing director Jeremy Heath-Smith has announced that he is to resign from the boards of both companies with immediate effect. Heath-Smith, who has been with Eidos and Core for seven years, was closely associated with the development of the hugely delayed Tomb Raider: Angel of Darkness - which narrowly missed being released in Europe in time for Eidos' financial year end despite a desperate last-minute scramble.

THE ANGEL OF DARKNESS ASSAULTS CHARTS

Tomb Raider: Angel of Darkness took the top spot in the UK sales charts this week, selling more copies in its first week than any other previous Tomb Raider title - while Sony's Eye Toy: Play made a solid start at number two. The strength of the Tomb Raider franchise was proved afresh by the success of Angel of Darkness, which has also become the fifth best selling PS2 title over one week of all time in the UK - despite repeated delays to the launch of the game, and a critical panning in the majority of reviews.

EIDOS RELEASES ANGEL OF DARKNESS FIX

Eidos Interactive plc has released an update for Lara Croft Tomb Raider: The Angel Of Darkness for PC which resolves a number of technical issues including crashes when keyboard is remapped to selected keys, system deadlock if the correct key is not pressed when playing an FMV, and system locking and crashing just after loading a new level.

NATIONAL TAKE LARA CROFT TO WORK DAY

Lara Croft has long been enhancing the leisure time of people across the country. Now she is set to bring some relief to the work place. In a drive to increase employee satisfaction and productivity, managers across the country are allowing staff to play her new adventure Lara Croft Tomb Raider: The Angel of Darkness for half an hour at work on its day of release on PC and PS2, Friday 4th July - National Take Lara to Work Day.

EIDOS CONFIRMS EUROPEAN AOD DATES

Eidos Interactive, one of the world's leading publishers and developers of entertainment software, will release Lara Croft Tomb Raider: The Angel of Darkness on PlayStation 2 in the UK this Friday, July 4th 2003. The game will be available across the rest of Europe week commencing July 7th 2003. Since Lara made her debut in 1996, the Tomb Raider series has sold more than 28 million units worldwide.
