ALL-STAR CAST FOR BATMAN BEGINS GAME

Electronic Arts and Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment announced today they have secured an all-star cast for the Batman Begins video game. The game will feature the voices and likenesses of Christian Bale (Bruce Wayne/Batman), Michael Caine (Alfred Pennyworth), Liam Neeson (Henri Ducard), Katie Holmes (Rachel Dawes), Cillian Murphy (Dr. Jonathan Crane), Tom Wilkinson (Carmine Falcone) and Morgan Freeman (Lucius Fox), all reprising their roles from the upcoming Warner Bros. Pictures film directed by Christopher Nolan.

By far the most popular question our readers have asked in recent times has been the query of when will Eidos announce Tomb Raider 7 as the Q4 2005 release date Eidos touted in 2004 looms ever closer. While there has been a considerable volume of speculation as to why Eidos have remained silent for so long, it is our opinion that an announcement is now immediately forthcoming, and our money is on February 14th, 2005. The most obvious reason for selecting this date would be because it's their leading lady's birthday, and crafted carefully the PR momentum attached to that train would most certainly propel the build-up of anticipation and overall excitement to near-hype status until the game finally hits the shelves.

GAME OVER FOR ION STORM STUDIO

Eidos has closed the doors to its Austin-based ION STORM studio, developers of Deus EX and Thief: Deadly Shadows. In a statement released earlier today, Eidos said: Eidos today announced locally that it is to consolidate down its North American internal development capabilities from two studios to one. This will mean the immediate closure of the Ion Storm studio in Austin, Texas.
