Tomb Raider star Daniel Craig and Closer star Clive Owen have been short-listed to fill the immense shoes vacated by Pierce Brosnan as British secret service agent James Bond, code-name 007. Casino Royale, penned by Ian Flemming, has been confirmed by MGM as the next Bond movie. Martin Campbell (Beyond Borders (with Angelina Jolie), GoldenEye) will direct. Dame Judi Dench and John Cleese are also attached.

NEWS CORP NOT GAME FOR EIDOS BUYOUT
London publisher Eidos and Rupert Murdoch’s News Corp have both dismissed claims the video-game company was the target of a potential takeover as reported by Games Industry earlier this week. A source within the News Corp empire said: We're not even in talks with them, so we'd be struggling to be about to buy them. It's weird; there's someone internally saying, 'Oh, it's happening next week,' so I'd love to know if that person has bought the stock then watched it go up after leaking the rumour. That's the situation. Eidos may be on the verge of being sold, but not to us.

EIDOS ON VERGE OF SALE TO NEWS CORP
Eidos may have finally acquired a buyer for the company following a report leaked yesterday by www.gamesindustry.biz that media tycoon Rupert Murdoch may be readying a foray into the video-game business with the acquisition of the London-based publisher. GI reports this morning that sources within Eidos have confirmed the company is on the verge of being sold to Rupert Murdoch's media empire News Corporation, with the deal expected to be announced within the coming week.
