TRACHTENBERG REACHES IMDB SUMMIT
Michelle Trachtenberg has stoically reached the summit of Mount STARmeter to displace Nicole DeHuff as this week's IMDb flag bearer. The Ice Princess star is joined by Paydin LoPachin (The Stars Fell on Henrietta), long term top-ten contender Johnny Depp (The Rum Diary), former pole sitter Jon Hedder (Moving McAllister) and Just My Luck star Lindsay Lohan who pack out the top five. SCi TAPPED FOR EIDOS TAKEOVER BID
British newspaper The Sunday Telegraph has reported SCi Entertainment Group Plc may tender a bid for London publisher Eidos plc ahead of an expiry date on a loan provided by Royal Bank of Scotland. Bloomberg.com also reports that SCi, which is based in London, is currently carrying out due diligence." Eidos said earlier this month it was in talks that may lead to a 75 million-pound ($144.1 million) offer, confirmed in the Company's interim results.

VENTURE CAPITALIST FIRM EYES UP EIDOS
Online analyst Market Watch notes that a report in the Times of London has indicated $2.5 billion California venture capital firm Francisco Partners is considering making a bid for Britain's biggest computer game-maker and creator of the Lara Croft Tomb Raider titles, Eidos plc. Numerous suitors have been tapped as likely acquirers of the British publishing house, including UBI SOFT, EA and more recently Rupert Murdock's News Corp empire. Eidos has a further ten days to secure a buy-out offer before a golden parachute tendered by Royal Bank of Scotland expires.

NINTENDO BANGS OUT RECORD DS UNITS
Nintendo DS, launched in the UK on Friday 11th March 2005, has achieved record breaking sales of nearly 87,000 units in its first two days alone. Nintendo DS software also proved a hit with gamers across the UK with Super Mario 64 DS, Wario Ware: Touched! and Rayman DS (Ubisoft) the UK's top three selling titles respectively. The success in the UK follows in the wake of exceptional sales in the US and Japan where over 3 million Nintendo DS units have been sold worldwide since launch.
