ANGELINA JOLIE TO APPEAR ON AMC SHOW

SHARK TALE BITES BIG AT U.S. BOX OFFICE
The animated fish story Shark Tale swamped the competition, opening as the top weekend movie with $49.1 million and potentially breaking the record for best October debut. John Travolta and Joaquin Phoenix's firefighting adventure Ladder 49 premiered in second place with $22.8 million, according to studio estimates Sunday. The new flicks bumped the previous weekend's top movie, The Forgotten, to third place with $12 million, raising its 10-day total to $38.3 million.

DE SOUZA SCORES LIFETIME ACHIEVEMENT
This year's Doctor Bird Awards lifetime achievement honouree is Jamaican born Steven E de Souza, whose body of work spans over 30 years of producing, directing and writing major blockbuster movies. De Souza's credits include the milestone action films Die Hard and 48 Hours as well as such hits as Commando, The Running Man, Ricochet, Die Hard 2 and The Flintstones. His most recent films are the suspense thriller Possessed, which he also directed, and last year's Lara Croft Tomb Raider: The Cradle of Life.

ANGELINA CONSIDERS SELLING OSCAR
Hollywood superstar Angelina Jolie is considering auctioning off the Oscar she won for her performance in Girl, Interrupted to raise money for charity, according to Teen Hollywood. The bee-stung lipped beauty explains: An Oscar is nice, but I never take it that seriously and I make a point never to see [my] awards. I give them away immediately, so that they are never in my environment.

CRAIG TURNS HIS BACK ON HOLLYWOOD
Daniel Craig has turned his back on Hollywood, because he feels more at home making smaller British films. The star - who was recently linked to supermodel Kate Moss- has ventured across the Atlantic ocean to shoot major roles in LARA CROFT: TOMB RAIDER and ROAD TO PERDITION. But, although he enjoyed the experience, he insists he felt more at home back in Britain to make new film LAYER CAKE.
