GAME MAKERS FINGERS AT THE CONTROLS

Games console players are expected to provide the bulk of a 4bn windfall for software manufacturers over the next three years as Microsoft's Xbox challenges the dominance of Sony's PlayStation products. A report by research firm Datamonitor forecasts revenues from games will grow to 21.6bn dollars in 2004 - 22 per cent above last year.

Donated by Eidos Interactive, the world exclusive sale runs from 26th April and will last for 10 days. All proceeds from the auction will go to UNICEF, United Nations Children's Fund.

TR SOUNDTRACK NOMINATED FOR AWARED

Irish rock group U2 have been nominated for a prestigious Music Video Production Association award for their Elevation single which appeared in Paramount Pictures Tomb Raider motion picture. The prestigious annual MVPA Award Show is the only awards forum within the industry of music video production that recognizes the technical and creative artisans of the industry.

GANDOLFINI GIVES VOICE TO SHARKSLAYER

james Gandolfini has signed on to voice the Soprano of all sharks in DreamWorks Pictures' animated project Sharkslayer. Animation helmers Eric Bibo Bergeron (The Road to El Dorado) and Vicky Jenson (Shrek) are teaming for the first time to direct the CGI-animated project, which will also feature the voices of Will Smith, Angelina Jolie and Renee Zellweger.

BILLY BOB DENIES BABY BARRED CLAIMS

Billy Bob Thornton has denied reports that he and wife Angelina Jolie have been barred from taking their newly-adopted Cambodian son into the US. Thornton and Jolie adopted eight-month old Maddox last November. It was reported that stringent US immigration laws meant the couple would never be allowed to take the child to live in America.
