UN TAPS ARMANI FOR ABASSADOR POST
Italian fashion designer Giorgio Armani will become the United Nations' latest celebrity ambassador at a ceremony in his home country, the U.N. refugee agency said Tuesday. Ruud Lubbers, the U.N. high commissioner for refugees, said he was proud to appoint Armani as a goodwill ambassador for the agency, which cares for some 20 million people worldwide.

IBROWARD FIRM ADOPTS WORTHY AMPAIGN
This isn't Angelina Jolie's kind of adoption. While the actress's much-hyped difficulties in adopting a Cambodian child have earned her headlines, about 600 children await adoption in Broward County. Officials with the Department of Children & Families and the Children's Services Council are hoping a new advertising campaign will change the future for those kids. Themed Adoption in Broward: Easier than ever, the campaign has budgeted $300,000 to tap television, radio, print, outdoor and movie theater advertising to reach prospective adoptive parents for 600 foster children, said Jack Moss, district administrator for DCF.

Helmer Jan de Bont may not direct Paramount Pictures Tomb Raider sequel after all according to fresh rumours matriculating from Cannes. Although Par is satisfied with the screenplay tendered for the second Lara Croft movie, no official confirmation has been made on who will direct the returning Angelina Jolie.

IGN RELEASES NEW TOMB RAIDER FOOTAGE
Online entertainment network IGN has posted three movies from E3 2002 showcasing Lara Croft in The Angel Of Darkness, the sixth Tomb Raider adventure set to make its commercial debut December 4th, 2002. The episodic-based adventure is classic Lara as both hunter and hunted relying on her ingenuity, athleticism and a new edge that has arisen from her dark inner demons. However, this time she faces more evolved characters and situations, calling for more involved decision-making.
