CINESITE SCORES WIZARDRY ON TR SEQUEL

Digital wizards Cinesite have been awarded 300 or more special effects shots for Paramount Pictures Tomb Raider movie sequel that began shooting at Pinewood Studios in August with Angelina Jolie returning at British archaeologist Lara Croft, Variety Magazine reports today. Cinesite's London-based European headquarters will toil their digital trickery primarily on 3-D animated stunt-supported sequences. The Mill will also weave their magic on the Jan de Bont helmed pic following extensive CGI work on Par's original Tomb Raider movie.

ANGELINA JOLIE ARRIVES IN NORTH WALES

Oscar winning actress Angelina Jolie has been whisked to a secret location in North Wales to continue shooting scenes for Paramount Pictures Tomb Raider movie sequel, IC Liverpool reports today. One of her first scenes will involve the Hollywood superstar traveling in a 4x4 off-road vehicle hugging the borders of a lake surrounding a spectacular thatched village designed to resemble a Chinese rural community.

Eidos Interactive, one of the world's leading publishers and developers of entertainment software, announces that Blood Omen 2 is scheduled for release on the Nintendo GameCube this Autumn. Currently being developed by Crystal Dynamics, creators of the Soul Reaver franchise, the game's release marks the first time a video game from the Legacy of Kain series will be available on a Nintendo platform. Blood Omen 2 is a story-driven, combat action game that centers on the fallen vampire Kain and his quest to reclaim rule over the ancient city of Nosgoth.

ANGELINA JOLIE GIVES 100,000 TO REFUGEES

Tomb Raider star Angelina Jolie has donated dlrs 100,000 to provide food for Western Sahara refugees, United Nations aid agencies said Friday. The actress, who is a goodwill ambassador for the U.N High Commissioner for Refugees, gave the money to UNHCR and the World Food Program to help support some 155,000 refugees living in camps in southeastern Algeria.

JOLIE WILL SHOOT IN WALES FOR TR SEQUEL

Pinewood Studios spokeswoman Sue Darcy has confirmed to IC North Wales that Lara Croft star Angelina Jolie will arrive in North Wales within weeks to continue shooting scenes for Paramount Pictures Tomb Raider movie sequel. The former Oscar-winner, donning hot-pants and pistols for her second foray as video-game heroine Lara Croft, will film on six purpose-built sets in a disused slate quarry near Carmel. Action scenes will also be recorded in a secluded spot beneath rugged slopes beside Llyn Llyn Gwynant and in a fantastic thatched village that has been built and designed to pass for ancient China.
