HITMAN 2 STEALS CROWN FROM MARIO BROS

Eidos Interactive has stolen the crown from Nintendo's Super Mario by escalating its Hitman 2: Silent Assassin to numero uno in the all-formats ELSPA charts compiled by ChartTrack, the watchdog responsible for monitoring and reporting on sales of music, video and software via retailers' EPOS systems.

HITMAN 2 SOUNDTRACK MAKES ITS DEBUT

Not satisfied with toppling Nintendo's Super Mario from numero uno in the all-formats video-game chart compiled by ChartTrack, publishers Eidos Interactive have engaged the second phase of an aggressive advertising campaign by releasing the Hitman 2: Silent Assassin soundtrack featuring a 110 piece Budapest Symphony Orchestra.

ANGELINA JOLIE SMITTEN BY WEREWOLVES

Actress Angelina Jolie, whose love of the macabre has filled the tabloids, is set to howl at the moon in Bitten, a movie about a female werewolf. The project is based on a novel by Kelley Armstrong, which Warner Bros. optioned on the basis of a treatment by Alexander Stuart, who will also write the script.

HITMAN 2 COMMERCIAL BANNED FROM TV

Eidos Interactive has had its new ad campaign banned from nine major networks after the broadcasters deemed the content too hardcore for their audience. VH-1, MTV, MTV 2, TNN, UPN, ABC Sports, Comedy Central, Sci-Fi all refused to transmit the Hitman 2: Silent Assassin commercial forcing London based video-games publisher Eidos back to the cutting room. According to various press statements, the networks said the new commercials glorified violence and the title looked a little too realistic to be a game.
