MGM BRINGS MOVIES BACK TO SPEED

Billy Bob Thornton coupled with Tomb Raider star Angelina Jolie joined a host of celebrities including Bruce Will and Demi Moore at the Las Angeles gala, Variety reports today.

VIDEO BIZ PUBLISHES XBOX SCHEDULE

Microsoft Corps XBOX frenzy is reaching critical mass as an increasing number of videogame publishers build their upcoming titles around the next generation games console. London based Tomb Raider publishers Eidos PLC are no exception, and according to a release slate published by Variety’s entertainment arm Video Business, two titles will make their commercial debut this coming November.

Shares in Eidos PLC were leading the mid-cap risers at midday, bucking the weak market trend after Merrill Lynch restarted coverage with an upbeat note on the computer games maker and its Europe-wide sector with a medium-term 'buy' stance and a long-term 'neutral' in a morning note to clients. It said Eidos offers a pure, operationally geared play on the games industry with a focused approach, a solid balance sheet, and clean accounting policies.
