121.   Tomb Raider Chronicles - NEW DIRECTION FOR NEXT GENERATION

Amid a whirlwind of rumour and speculation about the direction of the Tomb Raider series following on from Chronicles, Core Design's Adrian Smith, fresh from his first interview on Chronicles, is back talking to GameSpot UK about Next Generation, the rebirth of Lara Croft and gameplay as we have never seen it. The Last Revelation, aka Tomb Raider 4, sees Lara entrapped in the Temple Of Horus, twiddling her thumbs while millions of fans around the world become embroiled in the flashback adventures of Chronicles, giving Core Design a clean sheet for the creation of the Next Generation of Tomb Raider. The last thing we want in Tomb Raider Next Gen is Lara Croft standing up outside a tomb. comments Smith.

124.   Tomb Raider Chronicles - CHRONICLES LEVEL EDITOR REVIEW

Changing the angle on Chronicles for a moment, we follow the progress of the level editor, being produced by Core Design for shipping with PC versions of Chronicles. Key attributes in creating levels, according to Core, are patience and basic computing skills, as well as a degree of creativity. Initially, a 3 dimensional room is created at structure level, then textures, object placement and enemies are then integrated into the broth on squares, which act as triggers in the game, like climbing textures or monkey bars.

125.   Tomb Raider Chronicles - TOMB RAIDER NEXT GENERATION UPDATE

While no real official word has fed the growing appetite of gamers across the globe, Tomb Raider Next Generation is finding it's way onto forums across the web, with speculation and rumour painting a very different picture of Lara Croft and her new adventure and direction. This taken from the official Eidos Interactive forums: Lara’s back, this time with a ton of attitude, a longer ponytail, a more detailed body, facial features and aimed at a entirely new age group. These are the very first details of the Sony Play Station 2 version of the game, and you should prepare yourself for Lara as you’ve never seen her before.
