Level 6: Jan Mayen Island

Gate Of The Dead

(Note - Just before the level loads, you have the option of choosing between Snow Heavy or Snow Light. You can also select your secondary weapon to start with, although you can change it any time from your PDA.)

In the cut scene, Lara reaches Jan Mayen Island. She talks to Zip through her headset who tells her that Amanda owns another ship, Tisiphone, anchored off the coast of Thailand. It looks like Amanda and her crew are after Lara. She thanks Zip and tells him to take some rest. Lara takes it from here and using the bike, she jumps over a deep chasm. She then drives into a cave.

After the cut scene, dismount and turn around. Go to the right where you will find a Health Potion near some empty vases. Get the bike and drive through the tunnel. At the end, dismount and approach the stone door. Use the power of the gauntlent to slide it to the right. Drive through it to enter the next area.

In the brief cut scene, Lara watches the high pit and the ramp going all the way to the bottom.

Going down the ramp - Turn around and go to the left of the doorway where you will find a Health Potion and a Treasure (1/30) hidden in a rounded vase. Get the bike and drive down a bit until you meet a Viking thrall sitting on a stone block. Start shooting while backing up and do not forget to stomp it once it falls down.

Continue down the ramp, being careful of the openings. They appear on the right hand side, so stick to the left. In some cases, the openings extend and reach the wall on the left. You cannot jump over them, so you have to drive along the wall. As you go down, you will meet three more Viking thralls. You run over them as you drive, but be careful not to fall down as you steer. The vases on the path are empty, so do not bother with them.

When Lara reaches the door, a cut scene starts. The engraved door is mentioning the "Gate of the Dead", which Lara identifies as Valhalla, the legendary place where the fallen warriors were preparing for Ragnarök, the apocalypse.

At the bottom of the tower - After the cut scene, draw weapons. Four Viking thralls are approaching from the right, so kill them all. You can throw a couple of grenades and run away. If you are lucky, some of them will be killed. Now get some pick-ups before continuing. To the left of the door (as you face it) is a vase that contains a Treasure (2/30). Move clockwise to reach the spot where the ramp creates something like a shelter. Break the vase and pick up one more Treasure (3/30). Finally, get the Health Potion at the bottom of the ramp.

The tower is really tall and you will have to climb to the top. Before doing that, you have to activate it. There are three stone blocks on the ground near the tower. Pick up each one and place it in one niche to the side of the tower.

When you place all three stone blocks, the cut scene shows that the tower has been activated and the stone rings of the tower have begun to rotate. The camera also points upwards, indicating where you have to go.

Activating the first symbol - Run around the tower (stay close to it) until you find the symbol that glows when Lara is nearby. Grab onto it and move to the right, rotating the base of the tower at the same time. The first symbol on the floor is the same as the one that glows, so rotate the base up to this point (as shown in this screenshot). You rotate the base to the left as weel, but that way is much longer. When you do it correctly, a ray of light will fall from the ceiling in front of the door.

There are three more symbols to activate and you will do it by climbing up the tower, eventually reaching the top of it.

Climbing up the tower/ From ground to first tier - (This page shows the process until you activate the second symbol.) Jump to grab one of the lowest handholds on the side of the tower and wait until the ring above rotates and brings the next handhold. Jump to grab it and again wait until the next ring above brings a horizontal pole above. Jump to grab the pole and climb to stand on it. Approach the tower and wait for a narrow ledge to pass above Lara's head. Jump to grab it and pull up to hug the wall. When another pole passes above Lara's head, jump up to grab it. Traverse away from the tower until you reach the middle of the pole. Climb on the pole and jump to grab the circular ledge above; pull up.

Activating the second symbol - Carefully go around the ledge and pick up a Health Potion. Now find the symbol that glows when Lara is nearby. Grab onto it and move to the left, rotating the ring at the same time. When the symbol reaches the same one designed on the floor, a second ray of light falls from the ceiling in front of the door.

Climbing up the tower/ From first to second tier - (This page shows the process until you activate the third symbol.) Jump to grab one of the lowest handholds on the side of the tower. Jump straight up three more times to reach the topmost handhold. Traverse to the either left or right and jump to grab the horizontal pole. Climb on it and wait for another pole to pass above. Jump to grab it and climb on it. When the next ring brings a handhold above Lara, jump to grab it and do the same thing to grab the next handhold above. Wait until the horizontal pole comes above you and jump up to grab it. Traverse away from the tower until you reach the middle of the pole. Climb on the pole and jump to grab the circular ledge above; pull up.

Activating the third symbol - Go around the ledge to find a vase that contains a Treasure (4/30). Grab onto the symbol that glows when Lara approaches it and rotate it to the right until you reach the same symbol on the floor. When you do it correctly, a third ray of light falls from the ceiling in front of the door.

Climbing up the tower/ From second to third tier - (This page shows the process until you activate the fourth symbol.) Jump to grab one of the lowest handholds on the side of the tower. When another handhold passes above Lara, jump up to grab it. Wait until the next ring brings a narrow ledge above. Jump to grab it and pull up to hug the wall. Jump to grab the horizontal pole as soon as it passes above Lara's head, but do not pull up yet.

There are holes that spurt steam that can hurt Lara and make her lose her grip and fall down. If the latter happens, Lara will first hang with one hand before falling down, so quickly press the Intercat button to make Lara hang with both hands. While hanging from the pole, climb on it as soon as the steam hole passes above. Turn to face the tower and jump to grab the narrow ledge above. Pull up to hug the wall and quickly jump straight up to grab the horizontal pole before the steam hole reaches you. Climb on it and turn to face the tower. Jump up to grab the narrow ledge above and pull up to hug the wall before the steam hole reaches you. Jump up once more to grab the horizontal pole and traverse away from the tower until you reach the middle of the pole. Climb on the pole and jump to grab the circular ledge above; pull up.

Activating the fourth symbol - Go around the ledge and get a Health Potion and two Treasures (5 and 6/30). One of them is hidden in a vase. Then grab onto the symbol that glows when Lara is nearby and move to the left. When the symbol reaches the same one designed on the floor, a fourth ray of light falls from the ceiling in front of the door.

When all four symbols are activated, the gate will unlock.

Valhalla

Climbing down the tower/ From third to second tier - Climbing down the tower is easier and faster. (The following sequence is shown in this page.) Hang from the ledge and make sure you are not hanging above a steam hole. Release to grab the horizontal pole below, then the next two poles. Lara will grab the poles with one hand, so press the Interact button to save her. While hanging from the third pole, traverse close to the tower and release to grab the lower ledge. Wait for another ledge to come below and release to grab it. Then drop to the second tier.

Climbing down the tower/ From second to first tier - (The following sequence is shown in this page.) Hang from the edge of the second tier and release to grab the horizontal pole when it passes below. Traverse towards the tower and wait for a ledge to pass below. Release to grab it, then release to grab the next ledge as soon as it passes below. You can now wait for the next horizontal pole to pass below or skip it and directly grab the next handhold. If you go for the latter, you will have to save Lara from the long drop by pressing the Interact button. Traverse to the next handhold (it will be to the either left or right) and release four times to land on the first tier.

Climbing down the tower/ From firt tier to the ground - (The following sequence is shown in this page.) Hang from the edge of the first tier and release to grab the horizontal pole. Traverse towards the tower and release to grab the ledge below. Release to grab the pole below, then the next handhold when it passes below. Wait for this ring to to rotate so you can drop and grab the lowest handhold. From there, drop to the ground.

Opening the door to Valhalla - Go to the door, grab it and move to the right to slide it open. Do not forget to get the bike with you, although it is not necessary to finish the level. However, if you are interested in getting the Relic and all Treasures, you must get it (no spoilers for now). Additionally, the bike can help you kill the upoming thralls by running over them. So, getting the bike, it is up to you.Map

Dark hallways - Go through the door to enter a dark hallway. The next part (which seems to be a maze if this is your first time through the game) is shown in the diagram on the right. The Treasures are numbered in the order you find them.

To the right near the entrance is a rounded vase that hides a Treasure (7/30). Get it and continue through the hallway. As you approach the ramp leading down, three bats attack. Kill them and keep your weapons drawn because a Viking thrall will soon appear. If you advance slowly, you will first deal with the bats, then the thrall. When everything that moves is dead, get the Treasure (8/30) to the left of the ramp. Then go down it and break the vase at the bottom of the ramp on the left to find one more Treasure (9/30). Continue to the next junction.

Turn left on the junction and follow the hallway as it goes around the corner to the right. There are two Viking thralls in the area beyond, so wait at the top of the next ramp leading down. The first thrall will soon come up from the area below. Once you kill it, the second will follow, so make it history too. Since they attack one by one, you can use the Pistols and start shooting as soon as Lara locks on them, backing away at the same time. Or, if you have brought the bike here, you can run over the threats.

Go down the ramp and pick up the Treasure (10/30) at the bottom on the right. Pass the fallen rocks and enter the small hallway on the left. At the corner on the left you will find one more Treasure (11/30). What seems to be a dead end here is a stone door that hides the level's Relic. You will come back to it later, so ignore it for now. Turn around with the stone door to your back and turn left at the junction. When you pass beneath the stone arch, break the vase on the right and get the Treasure (12/30). There is one more Treasure (13/30) hidden in a vase at the far right and a Health Potion at the far left of the hallway.

Make you way back to the first junction close to the entrance. As you pass the hallway you came from, look for a Treasure (14/30) behind the rocks on the right. Get the bike if you have it here and drive around the corner to the left. Continue down the next ramp and deal with two Viking thralls that come from behind the fallen rocks ahead. When you are done, turn to face the ramp you just went down and break the vase at the bottom of the ramp on the right to find a Treasure (15/30).

For now, go straight on the junction, behind the fallen rocks and turn left around the corner. As soon as you pass the stone arch, look for a vase on the left. Break it and pick up the Treasure (16/30). Then head to the end of the hallway where you will find a Health Potion on the left.

Make your way back to the junction. The ramp ahead leads back, so turn left. When you reach the next junction, you will have to deal with a flock of bats. Keep your weapons drawn and kill one more thrall coming from the left. Once it is history, go right and roll through the opening at the bottom of the fallen rocks. Pick up the Treasure (17/30) and return back to the junction.

The left way is the one you came from, so proceed ahead and behind the rocks. A Viking thrall is lurking there, so run over it. Be on your toes, because his friend is approaching from the left.

Exactly ahead is an alcove with a vase that hides a Treasure (18/30). The right way is a dead end, but it is actually a stone door that you will open later. For now, go left and proceed slowly. There are three Viking thralls behind the rocks. The first one comes alone, but the other two attack together. When you deal with them, look for a vase behind the rocks that span the hallway on the left. Break it and pick up the Treasure (19/30).

Get the bike and drive up the short stone ramp to jump over the rocks. Drive beneath the arch and dismount. There is a hallway on the right and a Viking thrall standing on the ledge above. If you enter the hallway, the thrall will jump down, so kill it. The ledge it was standing on is the exit, but before going there, roll through the low opening at the bottom of the rocks opposite the arch you came from and break the vase to get a Treasure (20/30). Then return back.

(Note - The next part describes the retrieval of the next Treasure and the level's Relic. This includes two timed runs, so if you are not interested, skip to the part of the walkthrough Exiting the dark hallways.)

Timed run for Treasure (21/30) - There is a movable stone block to the right of the arch you came from. Push\ pull it beneath the wooden pole jutting out of the wall. Make sure you leave some space between the wall and the stone block, so you can park the bike there (see this screenshot for the correct position). The bike should be parked facing the arch and the stone ramps you came from.

Climb on the block and jump to grab the wooden pole. Lara's weight lowers the pole and this works as a mechanism that opens the stone door at the end of the hallway (Second stone door in the diagram). When the pole lowers all the way, you will hear a rumbling, indicating that the door has opened. This is timed, so quickly drop down, get on the bike and drive forward beneath the arch and up the ramp. Keep driving forward and through the door. (The blue line in the diagram shows the way.) If you do not make it, you can return back and try again.

Once you make it through the door, kill the spiders that attack and pick up the Treasure (21/30) along with the Health Potion. The door is now closed, so use the nearby switch to open it. Then drive back to the area where you started the timed run.

Timed run for Relic - Push/ pull the stone block beneath the hole in the wall to the left of the exit. Pick up the wooden pole from the floor, jump on the block and place the pole in the hole (by pressing the Interact button). Pull the stone block away from the wall in order to leave some space and park the bike there (as shown in this screenshot).

Climb on the block and jump to grab the pole. As before, this works as a mechanism that opens the stone door at the other side of the maze near the entrance (First stone door in the diagram). When the pole lowers all the way, you will hear a rumbling, indicating that the door has opened. This is timed as well, so quickly drop down and get on the bike.

(The red line in the diagram shows the way to the Relic.) Drive forward beneath the arch and up the ramp to jump over the rocks. Straight ahead is the timed door where you got the Treasure, so turn right to enter the hallway. Do no use the ramp here, because you will lose some time. Instead, steer to the left and drive between the wall and the rocks. Ahead is a dead end where you got Treasure #17, so enter the hallway on the right. When you reach the next junction, turn left and drive up the ramp. Turn right and drive forward passing the hallway that leads to the entrance on the left. At the end, turn right and drive down the ramp. Steer to the left to avoid the rocks and turn left. Drive forward to pass through the door.

Two Viking thralls will be waiting inside and you may be able to run over one of them. Then dismount and deal with the other. Pick up the Relic and the Health Potion. The door is now closed, so use the nearby switch to open it. Get the bike and drive back where you started the timed run.

Exiting the dark hallways - You have to leave the bike now and continue on foot. Enter the hallway between the two wooden poles. If you did not kill the thrall before, it will jump down, so deal with it. Go to the end and use the alcove on the right to perform the Chimney Jump and grab the edge of the ledge above (as shown in this screenshot). Pull up and turn around.

Jump to the ledge where the thrall was standing on and approach the doorway. A Viking thrall is coming from the next room, so kill it. Pick up the Health Potion on the left and enter the next room.

Room with huge hammers and side rooms - Break the vase on the left and pick up the Treasure (22/30). Then cross the walkway, moving close to the thrall. When you reach the part that seems to be broken, the huge hammers begin to work. As they swing above Lara, one hammer is low enough to crash the walkway where the thrall is waiting. Lucky for you, the thrall will fall to its death, but the part of the walkway where you are standing will pitch forward. At this point, a situational adrenaline begins.

Climbing to the first safe walkway - (The whole process is shown in this page.) When Lara slides almost to the end of the slope, jump forward to grab the handhold of the square pillar before you fall into the chasm. Traverse to the right around the corner, but do it quickly because the handhold is about to collapse. Jump to grab the handhold on the next pillar and take a breather if you want, since this handhold is stable. When you are ready, release to grab the horizontal pole below. The pole is about to fall, so traverse to the other side and release to land on the slope. When you reach the end, jump to land on the beam ahead. The beam is stable, so take your time.

Walk to the other side of the beam and jump up to grab the handhold on the pillar ahead. Shimmy right around the two corners and drop to the next beam at other side of the pillar. As you walk on the beam, you will see a giant spider crawling the side of the next pillar. Shoot it and it will fall down. This beam does not reach the next pillar, so jump the gap to grab the narrow ledge there. Traverse to the right around the two corners until you reach the broken part of the ledge. Pull up to hug the wall and jump to the right (Lara's left arm) to grab the other part of the ledge. Traverse around the next corner and pull up. There is a beam exactly below, but do not go there. Instead, perform the Chimney Jump to grab the edge of the safe walkway above. Then pull up.

Climbing to the second safe walkway - Once you pull up on the walkway, turn around.

(Note - If you go to the other side of the walkway, you can jump to the next walkway that leads to one of the side rooms, but you cannot get the Treasure from the alcove opposite the entrance. You will have the chance to get it later from above.)

(This page shows the following sequence.) Jump to grab the handhold on the pillar and traverse around the corner. Be aware of the giant spider that may lurk below. It may appear a bit later, so stay sharp. Release to grab the corner of the handhold below and climb a bit to the right. Release to grab the narrow ledge below and pull up to hug the wall. Jump to the left (Lara's right arm) to grab the handhold of the next pillar and drop to the beam below. Turn around and shoot the giant spider that crawls the side of the next pillar.

When the spider falls down, walk to the other side of the beam. Jump to grab the narrow ledge on the pillar and traverse to the left to reach the opposite side. Drop to the beam below and walk to the other side. Jump to the small square ledge ahead, then jump to grab the narrow ledge on the pillar ahead. Pull up to hug the wall and walk to the left (Lara's right arm) and around the corner. There is a beam exactly below, but do not go there. Instead, perform the Chimney Jump to land on top of the short pillar. Turn right and and jump to grab the walkway. Pull up.

Top walkways - When you pull up on the walkway, you can see a room on the left. Before going there, proceed to the end of the walkway. As you move, the walkway collapses. If you do not stop at all, you will make it without problems. At the end, pick up the Health Potion and shoot the giant spider in the doorway on the left.

MapThe diagram on the left is a simple layout of the side rooms which are numbered in the order you follow them. It mainly shows the location of the Treasures and Health Potions.

First side room with toxic water - Jump the gap to land on the walkway where the spider was. Go through the doorway with your weapons drawn and deal with the Viking thrall that rises out of the toxic water. If you are fast, you can shoot the thrall with your Shotgun and throw it back into the water. Kill the flock of bats and break the vase on the left to get a Treasure (23/30). (Note: The bats may appear before the thrall, so be careful.)

Exit the room and jump back to the walkway you came from. Turn right and jump over the gap where the walkway collapsed before.

Second side room with gears and weights - Go through the doorway on the right and follow the tunnel to the next room. Two giant spiders are crawling down the wall opposite the entrance, so back away and kill them. Inside the room on the left is a rounded vase you can break and get a Treasure (24/30). The gears in this room moves the two weights up and down and this action makes the hammers outside to swing. You will meet two more similar rooms shortly.

Approach either weight, but do not stand too close, because it will hurt Lara. When it comes down, jump to grab the first handhold of the weight, then the next one. When it reaches the top, jump back to grab one of the moving horizontal poles that connect the highest gears. Pull up to stand on the pole and wait until it reaches the highest point. When it does so, jump up to grab the chain that moves towards the ledge you are headed. Once you reach it, drop onto it. (This page shows the process.)

Pick up the Health Potion from the right hand side of the ledge and enter the hallway that leads back to the room with the huge hammers. Approach the rotating cyliners, but do not step on them. Jump to grab the horizontal pole above, swing and jump to grab the next one. Do the same two more times to grab the fourth pole which is close to the opening. Climb on the pole to stand on it and wait for the hammer to approach. When it does so, jump to grab the handhold on its side.

Traverse to the right and shoot the flock of bats while the hammer swings back and forth. When all of them are dead, climb to the right as much as you can. Wait for the hammer to swing away from the room you exited and approach the other side. Immediately jump to the right to grab the wooden handholds on the wall (as shown in this screenshot). If you grab the topmost handhold, climb down to the lower one and traverse all the way to the right. When you reach the end, jump to grab the still hammer; pull up.

Third side room with gears and weights/ Going down - Drop into the hallway on the left and jump over the first set of rotating cylinders. Crouch beneath the next ones and finally jump over the last set of cylinders. Kill the flock of bats and enter the gear room. Break the rounded vase on the right to get a Treasure (25/30) and pick up the Health Potion from the left.

Since the hammer outside the room is immobile, it means that the whole mechanism in the room (gears and weights) are inactive. Jump up to grab either chain and traverse to the other side. Release to grab the horizontal pole which is closest to the higher weight. Climb to the either left or right (depending on which chain you used) in order to position Lara opposite the highest weight. Swing and jump to grab the handhold on the weight. As you hang from it, it moves down killing the giant spider that was stupidly waiting for you beneath the weight.

Drop to the ground and draw weapons. Two giant spiders come from the hallway, so kill them. Facing the hallway, locate the movable stone block which is stuck beneath the gear on the right. Pull it to activate the gears and set the hammer in motion.

Push\ pull the stone block into the hallway and position it against the fallen rocks that block the way (as shown in this screenshot). Climb on the stone block, then on top of the rocks. Drop down at the other side and kill the giant spider that crawls in. Go to the end of the hallway and pick up the Treasure (26/30). From this point, you can see another spider on the opposite side. You can kill it from here if you want or wait until later. Enter the hallway and climb on the rocks to return back to the gear room.

Now that you have set the hammer in motion, you have to climb to the upper ledge you came from and the process is the same as the previous gear room. Approach either weight and stand in the corner. When the weight comes down, perform the Chimney Jump to grab the handhold on the weight. If you cannot do that, push the stone block close to the weight, climb on the block, then jump to grab the handhold.

Climb around the corner if necessary so Lara's back is facing the room. When the weight reaches the top, jump back to grab one of the moving horizontal poles that connect the highest gears. Pull up to stand on the pole and wait until it reaches the highest point. When it does so, jump up to grab the chain that moves towards the ledge you came from.

Enter the hallaway and approach the first set of rotating cylinders. The second set now moves back and forth, so wait until they move away. Then jump over the first set of cylinders and crouch beneath the second one. When they move back, stand up and jump over the third set of rotating cylinders. Jump to grab the first horizontal pole, swing and jump to grab the next one. Climb up to stand on it and wait for the hammer to approach. When it does so, jump to grab onto it and traverse to the right around the corner. Climb to the right as much as you can and when the hammer swings away from the room you came from and towards the other side, jump to grab the wooden handholds on the wall (as shown in this screenshot). Climb down, then left around the corner and pull up into the hallway.

Fourth side room with toxic water - Go to the other side of the hallway and kill the flock of bats. If you take a look below, you will spot the Treasure in an alcove. You cannot reach it from here, so use the Grapple to catch the metal ring above. Drop off the ledge and climb down the grapple line. Now wall run and jump to grab the handhold on the right wall. Release to grab the lower handhold and jump twice on the right to reach the handhold in the corner. From there, jump to the right to grab the edge of the alcove. This is a long drop down and Lara will grab the edge with one hand. Press the Interact button to save her and prevent her from falling into the toxic pool. Pull up and pick up the Treasure (27/30). (This page shows the process.)

Turn to face the pool and jump forward to land on the ledge in front of the doorway. Draw weapons and kill the giant spider that is waiting at the other side. When you are done, exit to the room with the huge hammers.

Room with huge hammers/ Climbing to the side of the exit - (This page shows the following sequence.) Approach the edge of the ledge and jump to the sloped pillar. As you slide down, do not press anything and Lara will land on the beam below. If she loses her balance, she will hang from the beam, so pull up. Walk to the other side of the beam and jump to grab the narrow ledge on the pillar. Traverse to the left around the corner and pull up to hug the wall. Jump forward to land on top of the next pillar.

Turn right and jump to the small square ledge, then to the next one. Jump to grab the narrow ledge on the pillar and traverse to the right around the corner. Pull up to hug the wall and perform the Chimney Jump to grab the walkway above. Pull up and draw weapons. A Viking thrall jumps down from the upper ledge, so kill it before it pushes you off the ledge.

(Note - The next part describes the retrieval of the next Treasure. If you are not interested, skip to the part of the walkthrough Using the metal ring to get across.)

Fifth and sixth side rooms with toxic water - Enter the room at the other side of the walkway and kill the Viking thrall that rises out of the toxic water. If you are fast, two bullets will be enough to throw it back into the pool. This room does not contain anything, but it leads to another room with a Treasure.

(The following sequence is shown in this page.) Take a look above on the opposite wall and you will see a metal ring. Use the Grapple to catch it and jump off the ledge to hang from the cable. Climb up a bit until you reach the spot above the support columns. Wall run and jump to grab the handhold on the left. Traverse to the left and jump to grab the next handhold beneath the opening in the wall. Jump up to grab the edge of the opening and pull up. Follow the dark tunnel to the next (sixth) room.

Hang from the edge of the opening and release to grab the handhold below. Traverse to the left and jump to grab the handhold in the corner. Release to grab the lower handhold and jump to grab the edge of the alcove on the left. Pull up and pick up the Treasure (28/30).

Jump to grab the handhold you came from. Make your way back to the fifth room the same way you came. When you reach the edge of the opening that overlooks the fifth room, hang from it and release to grab the handhold below. Traverse to the left and jump to grab the next handhold (as shown in this screenshot). Shimmy left until Lara is hanging above the doorway. Drop down and follow the hallway to return back to the room with the huge hammers. Go left to reach the other side of the walkway.

Using the metal ring to get across - Use the Grapple to catch the metal ring on the wall. Wall run and jump to the opposite ledge. Pick up the Health Potion and jump to the next walkway on the right.

Seventh side room with gears and weights - As you approach the doorway, a giant spider will start running towards you. Imediately start shooting to kill it before it reaches you. Then cross the hallway to the next room.

In the cut scene, Lara finds a giant corpse on the ground. She identifies it as a yeti, probably the creature that gave birth to the Frost Giants in the Norse mythology. But what she assumed to be just a corpse starts moving and soon she is facing a very angry yeti thrall.

After the cut scene, run back into the hallway you came from. Along with the yeti thrall, a flock of bats also attack, making it really frustrating to aim at the yeti. Do not let its size scare you. It moves quite slowly, so if you run away, you can start shooting. You can even jump to the ledge where you got the Health Potion earlier. Bear in mind though that the creature will still follow you there. However, if you are brave enough, you can stay in the room and deal with the yeti, but make sure you jump around or it will smash Lara in a corner. As with the other thralls, once the yeti falls down, you have to stomp it by standing close to it and pressing the Interact button. If you like the fast way, perform the Adrenaline Headshot.

Once you are done, get the level's last two Treasures (29 and 30/30). The first one is hidden in a vase to the left of the entrance (as you enter) and the other between the two weights that go up and down, again hidden in the rounded vase.

You now have to reach the upper ledge and once again the process is the same as the previous rooms. Approach either weight and stand in the corner. When the weight comes down, perform the Chimney Jump to grab the handhold on the weight. Climb around the corner so Lara's back is facing the room. When the weight reaches the top, jump back to grab one of the moving horizontal poles that connect the highest gears. Pull up to stand on the pole and wait until it reaches the highest point. When it does so, jump up to grab the chain. This time, the chain moves towards the weights and not the ledge. Traverse towards the ledge, tapping the Interact button to move faster. If you just hang from the chain, Lara will reach the wall and fall down.

Pick up the Health Potion from the left and enter the hallway. Jump over the first set of rotating cylinder. To get past the second set that includes cylinders up and down, you need to make a tricky jump. Approach the cylinders and jump to grab the horizontal pole. Lara must not completely swing on the pole because the above cylinder will hurt her. Instead, you have to half swing and jump to let go and land on the floor. Briefly, jump to grab the pole and start tapping the Jump buton while having the up direction key still compressed.

Jump to grab the horizontal pole, swing and jump to grab the next one in front of the swinging hammer. Climb on the pole and wait for the hammer to approach. When it does so, jump to grab onto it and wait there.

As the hammer swings back and forth, notice the perpendicular walkway below (as shown in this screenshot). When the hammer passes above the walkway, release to land onto it. Quickly turn right and sprint to the safe ledge because the walkway collapses. Pick up the Health Potion from the right, although you will not need it since you are done with the level. Climb on the stairs and go up them.

In the cut scene, Lara goes up the stairs and stops in front of the doorway. Using her videocamera, she records the runes and deciphers "Thor, greatest of my sons, and the greatest weapon on Earth, are at last reunited. Upon my return, through rituals old and the power of Mjolnir, together we will open the seals of Helheim and fulfill our destinies."

When Lara enters the room, the belt and gauntlets glow again. Lara grabs the hammer from the pedestal and examins it. "Mjolnir" she says, "slayer of giants and the Midgard Serpent. More importantly, the key to Helheim, wherever that is." It is time for Lara to pay Natla a visit.
