Level 2: Mediterranean Sea | Part 3: The Norse Connection

Health Supplies: 2
Treasures: 7/26
Relics: 1/1

The gate here opens when both pressure plates are compressed. Since Lara can step on one of them, you have to find something to place on the other. Go to the right hand side where the vertical pole is. Grab it and climb to the top. Jump into the opening and drop to the room below. Pick up the Health Potion and notice the two small blocks. Pick up the first one and step on the pressure plate. When the stone door opens, press the Grenade key to throw the block through the door. Do the same thing for the second block and return back to the first room.

Gate puzzle - So, pick up one of the blocks and step on one of the two pressure plates. Press the Crouch button to set it down. Do the same thing with the second block, placing it on the same pressure plate. Their weight is enough to keep the plate down and remove the first lock of the gate. Now step on the second plate and position Lara to the edge, where she can see the ring on the gate (as shown in this screenshot). Use the Grapple to catch it and pull the gate down. Go through the doorway and approach Thor's left gauntlet.

In the cut scene, the gauntlet turns into dust when Lara touches it and a small artifact casting blue light remains. As Lara takes it and places it on her left hand, the stone projects a halo with the shape of a gauntlet around it. While she understands the connection between this place and the legend of Thor, Lara still does not see why her father thought that this place was related to Avalon. Unfortunately, she does not have time to investigate, because a squad of mercenaries are standing behind, aiming at her. At the command of their leader, Lara puts her hands on her head and turns around. Before she even understands that neither weapons nor bribery will help, she is knocked out. When she recovers, she realises that she does not have the artifact nor ammo for her guns. Before blowing up the way out, the last mercenary tells her that Amanda Evert sends her regards.

Approach Thor's statue and break the vases on the left. Pick up the Treasure (20/26) and exit the room. The entrance is now blocked by the rocks, so enter the room on the right. Break the vases in the bottom left corner and pick up the Treasure (21/26). Climb on the stone block (which was not here before the explosion) then into the opening above. Follow the passage, but before entering the next room, locate the vase just to the left of the opening (see here). Break it and pick up the Treasure (22/26).

Room with vertical poles - Go through the opening to reach a room with vertical poles. For now, go to the other side and break the vases on the left. Pick up the Treasure (23/26) and return back to the entrance. Jump to grab the first pole on the right (if the entrance is to your back) and climb to the top. Jump to reach the broken one hanging from the ceiling and again climb to the top. Jump to grab the next broken pole which is shorter and jump again to perch on the next two poles ahead. Finally, jump to the ledge in front of the exit.

Go through the opening and follow the hallway. Crawl under the rocks and when you stand up break the vases on the left and pick up the Treasure (24/26). Follow the hallway to its natural conclusion to return back to the kraken room.

The brief cut scene shows a mercenary running away.

Back to the kraken room - You are back to the kraken room, but this time you will explore the upper ledges that you could not reach before. Go to the right of the platform and use the Grapple to cath the golden ring above. Jump off the platform, swing and jump to the opposite side. To the right is a vase that contains a Treasure (25/26). Get it and go left where you will find a Health Potion. Vault on the nearby stone block and jump to grab the handhold. Then climb on the ledge above. Jump to grab the horizontal pole, swing and jump to the opposite side. Go to the other side and slide down the slope.

Before going through the opening, hang from the edge (as shown in this screenshot) and traverse to the right. Jump to grab the next ledge and again traverse to the right. Pull up and break the vases. Pick up the Treasure (26/26), but do not leave just yet. Continue to the other side of the ledge and jump to the opposite side (as shown in this screenshot). Crawl under the rocks and pick up the Relic from the left. Make your way back to the slope the same way you came.

(Note about the Relics - When you find a Relic, it restores your health and it also raises your maximum amount of health you can have.)

Go through the opening beneath the slope and turn right. Jump to grab the handhold on the left wall and traverse to the right. Release twice to grab the handholds below and finally drop to the ground.

Going back to the boat - You have to return back to the boat, so move away from the kraken room and go down the stairs until you reach the pit. Do not drop down; instead, look left and locate the handhold on the wall (as shown in this screenshot). Grab it and jump up to reach the upper one. Shimmy to the right, jump to grab the next handhold and shimmy right some more. At the end, drop down twice to grab the lower ledge. Shimmy to the right around the three corners and crawl under the stones.

Go down the stairs and turn around the corner. Vault on the rock on the left, climb up to the upper one and jump forward. Drop down at the other side and go down the next satirs. Follow the hallway back to the room with the serpent statues. Jump into the water and climb on the ledge beneath the doorway. Climb through the doorway, climb up the rocks and go through the next doorway. Dive into the water and follow the tunnel back to the room with the Door puzzle. Exit to the open sea and swim up to surface; approach the boat.

In the cut scene, Lara climbs on the boat and spots a ship. It is quite far away, so she uses her camera to zoom in. As she scouts the ship, she spots a couple of mercenaries. The situation probably seems challenging, since Lara drives there.
