Level 6: Diving Area

Go up the stairs to reach an opening above a pool. Do not drop into or you will be sucked by a moving fan thay you cannot see from here. Take a running jump to grab the ladder on the opposite side and climb to the top. Push the button to stop the fan and jump into the pool. Swim behind the fan and through the tunnel. At the end, get the two sets of Grenades and swim back to the main pool. Use the lever on the left hand side to open the door above the ledge. Climb out of the water and go through the door.

Room with pool and two swinging hooks - Two thugs and a Doberman attack from the left. Kill them and pick up their Shotgun Shells and two Uzi Clips (or a pair of Uzis instead of one of the Clips if you do not have them). You can see two bad guys at the other side, so kill them from here. Take a running jump to the block with the swinging hook, aiming the left hand part, or take a standing jump and grab the edge of the block when the hook moves to the opposite direction. Then shimmy to the extreme left and pull up. If the guys are still alive, shoot them from here. Now you can do either:

• Turn left and stand in either corner. When the hook moves to the opposite side, tap back once. Wait for it to move again to the other side and take a running jump to grab the other block with the swinging hook. Pull up, turn right and carefully take a running jump to the opposite ledge.

Walk to the upper left corner and angle Lara to the left to face diagonally the long ledge where the baddies are/ were. When the hook moves beside Lara, immediately hop back and make a running jump to land on the ledge.

If you did not kill the guys before, finish them off and pick up the Small Pedi Pack and the Flares they drop.

(Note – If you fall into the water whilst jumping on the blocks, swim through the tunnel to return back close to the entrance.)

1st Secret – When you enter the next room with the long ramp, slide down at the center to fall into the opening where the Silver Dragon is. If for some strange reason Lara slides over the opening and goes on sliding missing the Secret, try sliding backwards. She will slide and land inside the opening. Jump up to grab the other side and pull up. Slide down and jump at the edge WITHOUT pressing Action to land on the walkway.

Climbing up the long ladder - Continue to the left and climb up the long ladder. Yes, it is very long. It takes about 60 seconds to climb it – ONE whole minute! And in case you notice the opening in the wall behind, do not bother to grab it, because you will exit from there. Dismount on the ledge to the right and enter the room with the opening in the floor. Pick up the two sets of M-16 Clips and the Automatic Pistol Clips and approach the opening.

Locate where the ramp is and slide down backwards, pressing Action to grab the edge (as shown here). Now use the Look button and locate a thug on the ledge below. He does not notice Lara whilst she is hanging, and usually he starts walking around the catwalks. When you see him moving away to the left (he rarely – if not at all – moves to the right), release and grab the edge of the catwalk below. Immediately pull up and draw your weapons. You have plenty of time to kill him before he gets to a deadly distance. Be careful, however, as he sometimes tends to stand still, literally watching Lara – he is not shooting, but is ready to do so as soon as you get on the catwalks. Once you are done, pick up his two sets of Automatic Pistol Clips (or a pair of Automatic Pistols instead of one of the Clips if you do not have them).

Go to the left of the walkway and notice the missing part of the railing. Take a running jump to the wall ahead. You will slide onto the ledge below where the Blue Pass Card is. Pick up the Card and slide down. Climb into the doorway and follow the passage. Be careful not to fall at the end!! The ladder you see is the long one you climbed up before. So, once again, take a running jump to grab it and climb to the top. Dismount, drop through the opening in the next room sliding backwards and as before, pull onto the walkway.

Square hallway - Now go to the right of the walkway and use the Card you just got to open the door. The next door opens as you approach. The area here is a square hallway. Four Dobermans and a guy that throws flames are lurking around. First go to the right and kill two of the Dobermans. Until you are done, the next two will have already reached you from the other side. Kill them quickly because the nasty guy is about to come. Make sure you stay away from him or you may be toasted.

[Note - The square hallway and the rooms that follow (room with saw, underwater tunnel and helipad) are shown in this diagram.]

Room with saw – You cannot open any door here, but only the two with the wheel. Start with the one at the exact opposite side of the entrance (that is, the first one if you go left or the second if you go right). Turn the wheel to open the door and go down the stairs. A bad guy will attack from the right, so if you do not want to lose health, enter and run\ jump onto the block to the left. Kill him from here and drop down. This one is a movable block that you can push to reveal a panel. You do not have the chip yet, but you will get it in a while. Jump into the water and swim through the opening. A scuba diver is waiting there, so either harpoon him or climb out of the water using the low ledge next to the entrance and kill him from above.

Underwater tunnel - Swim through the opening and follow the tunnel around to the right. Swim to the bottom or the upper part between the two gates and pull the lever at the end to open the left gate (or the right as you return back). Swim through the open gate, which closes when you pass through, and follow the tunnel until you meet a second lever on the left hand wall. Pull it to open a door elsewhere. Continue swimming (do not forget: the lever must be on your left) and turn right on the T-junction. Do not hesitate, the gate opens as you approach and it is the other one from the two gates you saw before. So, swim to the left to return back to the pool where you can surface. If, for some reason, your breath is not enough to make it, after pulling the first lever you can return back and surface.

Helipad area – Climb out of the water and return back to the square hallway. Go to the left and turn the wheel to open the other door. Go up the stairs passing through the door you opened by pulling the lever in the underwater tunnel. When you enter the helipad, the alarm starts. Draw weapons and kill the thug and the bad guy that attack. Another thug appears, so kill him too. Once you are done, pick the Shotgun Shells (or the Shotgun if you do not have it), the Large Medi Pack and the Automatic Pistol Clips from the dead bodies. The alarm has already started and the helicopter takes off when you approach. Cross the helipad to reach the next room.

Timed burners – The switch turns off the first burner and the button the second one. For now, use the switch and quickly go and fall through the trapdoor. Pick up the M-16 gun and some Clips for it, climb back out and exit before the burner comes back on. Now the tough: use the switch, side-flip to the left, side-step to the left three times, push the button, side-flip to the right, run through the hallway, jump over the trapdoor and pickup the Machine Chip. Roll, run and jump over the trapdoor and keep running to exit.

Back to the room with the saw - Cross back the helipad and go down the stairs to return to the square hallway. Go to the right and make your way back to the room with the saw. If you have not done so, push the movable block to reveal the panel and place the Machine Chip to open the door. Go through it, but do not enter the room. Wait for a bit and a thug will come from around the pool. Kill him and step backwards because a guy that throws flames is coming from the left. Kill him and pick up the Small Medi Pack the first thug dropped. Go to the left and pick the two sets of Harpoons (or the Harpoon Gun instead of one of the sets if you do not have it).

2nd Secret – There is a panel exactly opposite the entrance (as shown in this screenshot). In fact, it is a door that opens as you approach. Go into and push the button at the end to open a trapdoor into the pool. Jump into the water and get the Jade Dragon.

Pool with small sub – Dive back down and swim through the tunnel. Just before the corner, you will hear the breath of two scuba divers. Either harpoon them or return back, climb out of the water and kill them from above. Alternatively, pass them by and climb out of the water in the next room; kill them from there. Continue through the underwater tunnel to reach a tall pool with a small sub at the bottom. Climb out of the water and take care of the two thugs on the opposite side. Be careful when you shoot them!! Watch them and shoot them only when they are walking on even ground. If they drop dead on one of the slopes, you will not be able to get their ammo and items when you get there later. Climb onto the upper ledge and use the switch to open a door back in the room with the saw. Before jumping into the water, kill the scuba diver that is now swimming inside the pool.

(Note – At this point, you can end the level if you set up a very good running jump and grab one of the ledges alongside the pool. This screenshot shows the correct position for the running jump, and this one is an example of the ledge you need to grab. Facing the pool, you need to grab the either left or right side of the walkway. Note though that you will miss several pick-ups and kills, but not the final Secret of the level.)

Back to the room with saw/ Control room – Jump into the water and swim through the tunnel to return back to the room with the saw. Kill the two thugs that exited from the control room and pick up their Small Medi Pack and Uzi Clips. Enter the control room and use the switch to move the ledge that is hanging from the hook to the other side of the pool. Exit the control room and take a running jump to grab the ledge. Pull up and take a running jump to the platform with the saw. You cannot get the card beneath the saw, so leave it for now. (Notice the panel behind the saw. You will come back for it later.) Drop into the passage behind the crates and push the button to reveal a big opening in the floor back in the helipad area.

Return back to the platform with the saw, jump into the water and climb out on the other side. There is a thug lurking in the square hallway, so stay sharp. If you are having troubles with him, step on the first stair to alert him and hop backwards shooting at him. Pick up his Shotgun Shells (or the Shotgun if you do not have it) and exit to the square hallway. Go to the left to reach the doorway that leads to the helipad area. For your information, two Dobermans and a thug will come down the stairs. To take them out, stand just at the entrance facing the stairs and wait for them. They will come one be one, so you can kill them easier. Once you are done, pick up the Uzi Clips the thug dropped and go up the stairs to return to the helipad area.

Back to the helipad area – Drop through the opening you just revealed and go through the passage. Drop into the room below and kill the thug and the flamethrower. If you drop forwards, turn left and kill the thug. Do not move and the flamethrower will come from the right. Pick up the thug's Machine Chip and exit to the square hallway using one of the four doors that will open as you approach. Make your back to the room with the saw (for a direct access, go through the door which is opposite the closed gate).

Back to the room with the saw\ above the pool with the small sub – Once again, use the ledge that is hanging from the hook to reach the platform with the saw. Place the Machine Chip in the panel slot to stop the saw; pick up the Red Pass Card. Yet another time return to the square hallway and go through the opposite door to return to the room you got the Machine Chip (where the last flamethrower appeared).

Use the Card you just got to open the gate and draw weapons. Lara hardly aims at the thug below, so you may have to drop down in order to kill him. If you want to kill him from above, you need some "blind" shots. In fact, he will play hide-and-seek, because Lara cannot aim at him all the time. In any case, follow the passage and climb down the ladder to return back to the room with the pool and the small sub at the bottom. Here are the two thugs you killed before, so pick up their Small and Large Medi Packs, plus two sets of Harpoons at the end of the walkway.

Go through the opening. The door here does not open so drop into the flooded hallway below. Climb out of the water and follow the next flooded hallway. You can hear a converastion between some men, but you will see in a while what's going on. Kill the two thugs in the next room from above and go down the stairs.

3rd Secret – Do not approach the monk in the middle of the room or you will miss the final Secret. Go through the open gate and pick up the Gold Dragon from the alcove (plus four sets of Uzi Clips as a reward for finding all the Secrets).

Exit and approach the monk to end the level.

The cut scene shows Lara approaching this room whilst she is hearing some voices. Marco and his men beat a man because they want some info from him. They ask him where in monastery they should look but they are getting interrupted by Lara (you, when you entered this room).

Lara is now standing above the monk. He can clearly see that she is not one of them and he introduces himself as Brother Chan Barkhang. Lara tries to tend his wounds and asks him what he is doing here with Marco Bartoli. In the meantime, she finds a wetsuit that fits to her. Chan says that he has nothing to do with Marco as he led righteous life. His father though bombed Gianni's vessel and he is here to prevent his son from salvaging the Seraph. Lara asks about the Seraph whilst she is changing into the wetsuit. Chan says that they want the Seraph to unlock a treasure in their monastery in Tibet. It was stolen, so they (monks) did not have the "key" for it. Gianni once found it and now Marco. Marco Bartoli emerges from the ledge above. He opens fire and the monk dies. Lara returns the fire and the alarms turn on for the sub that is diving into the water. So Lara does…
